Congratulations!

🎓💚💛 After years of hard work, late-night studying, clinical dedication, and endless perseverance, the moment has officially arrived. On Friday, our incredible dentistry, dental hygiene, masters, and PhD graduates from the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry walked across the stage as part of their Convocation.

We are so incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished during your time with us. You entered our classroom as students, and today, you leave as world-class oral health-care professionals and researchers. To the class of 2026: Take a deep breath, take it all in, and celebrate every moment. You earned this.

Headed home after an awesome trip to Cold Lake. Tired but very grateful to the clinics who let us stop by and the teams that welcomed us! Today we visited Cold Lake & St. Paul Orthodontics, Tri-Town Dental Centre, and Lake Centre Dental Group.

We also met with MLA to talk about some of the challenges facing dental teams in the community and how to address them. We look forward to working together to keep improving public dental programs and finding innovative ways to recruit oral health professionals into rural Alberta.

So great to be in Cold Lake today! Huge thanks to Medley Dental and for letting us come visit their clinics and tell us about their community. We also hosted a supper for the teams (thanks to everyone who took the time to come out). We are off tomorrow to visit Cold Lake Orthodontics and Tritown Dental.

To help celebrate Alberta Seniors WEek, we spent today at the Older, Bolder, Better! Exhibition and Symposium. We talked about why oral health is health, the signs and symptoms of oral cancers, how to access public dental programs like the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), and how to find a dentist close to home.
