I have created this page to share my story of how addiction affects both the addict and the family. After much thought I have decided to break my silence and share the destruction that prescription drug abuse causes. I want people to understand that it is a huge problem within our community, I want people/parents to be aware that these drugs are available to children/teens and young adults. My exp
eriences are with hydro morphone contin..known as "morph", oxycontin, bennies, valuum, and adivan. Over the years I have come to understand the mind of the addict; and how they think. I have learned at what cost they will go to to find these drugs, I have learned how it destroys themselves and their families. I have also learned first hand how I got sucked into this horrific world of trying to save the addict and fend off all the drug dealers. I have been lied to, manipulated and threatened, all because I was trying to protect my loved one and simply make it stop. Over the last year I have come to terms with this addiction, and realize I cannot stop this disease, this addiction. However this does not stop the worry, and the anxiety. I have however decided to share and educate people as much as I can. 2 years ago I had no idea about these "drugs", I had no idea my loved one was abusing them...until it almost to late.
