💜 Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP): Know the Signs 💜

Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when the structures supporting the pelvic organs weaken, allowing one or more organs to descend and create symptoms. While POP is most common in women, men can also experience pelvic organ prolapse, particularly involving the re**um after certain surgeries or conditions.

Common signs and symptoms may include:
• A feeling of heaviness, pressure, or “dragging” in the pelvis
• A bulge in or around the va**na (or re**um in some cases)
• Feeling like something is “falling out”
• Difficulty emptying the bladder or bowels completely
• Urinary leakage, urgency, or frequency
• Constipation or needing to strain with bowel movements
• Discomfort during exercise, standing for long periods, or intimacy
• Symptoms that worsen as the day goes on

Not everyone with prolapse has symptoms, and symptoms can range from mild to more bothersome. The earlier symptoms are recognized; the sooner support and treatment options can be explored.

If these symptoms sound familiar, know that help is available and you don’t have to manage them alone.

Why Use a Squatty Potty? 🚽

Your body was designed to p**p in a squat position.

Elevating your feet helps relax the pelvic floor, straighten the re**um, and make bowel movements easier.

✅ Reduce straining
✅ Improve bowel emptying
✅ Support pelvic floor health
✅ Help manage constipation
✅ Reduce pressure on a prolapse

💚 Small changes can make a big difference for your pelvic health.

💜 June is… Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) Awareness Month 💜

Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when the muscles and tissues that support the pelvic organs become weakened, allowing the bladder, uterus, re**um, or va**nal walls to shift downward and create a feeling of pressure or bulging in the va**na.

POP is common, especially after pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, or with aging, but it is not something you simply have to “live with.”

Symptoms may include:
• A feeling of heaviness or pressure in the pelvis
• A va**nal bulge
• Bladder or bowel difficulties
• Discomfort during daily activities or intimacy

The good news? Effective treatment options are available, including pelvic floor physiotherapy, pessaries, and surgery when needed.

Awareness leads to earlier diagnosis, better treatment, and less stigma.

Sometimes the smallest victories are actually the biggest.

This week, a mom shared a message that stopped us in our tracks.

After only three days of starting the program, her 8-year-old woke up with a dry diaper for the very first time.

To this family: thank you for trusting the process and allowing us to be part of your journey. 💗
