Our "Walk Through Time..Show and Shine" Car Show on August 13th was such an exciting evening for us. And the weather was spectacular! This special event was coordinated by our Family Council Chairpersons, Fay and Ty and the Activation department (thanks Lorraine for making us the posters!). What a supportive Family Council we have😁 We sat on the patio after supper eagerly waiting for 17 cars and trucks ranging from 1933 to present to park in front of our Home so our residents, friends, family, staff, and community friends could take a look at them and chat with the fine folks who generously donated their time to visit us and showcase their pride and joy. We had 3 door prizes for our car owners to enter. Thank you Cassandra and Julie for making the popcorn and slushies for everyone...the smell of fresh popped popcorn that filled the air was so enticing! Thank you also to Gavin Gardiner for providing the lively tunes 🎸🎵 What a great night for us as we brought back those memories of our first car, first date, family vacations....

And we're off to the races! Our Horse Race Game is always a big hit with our Fordwich Family. Residents placed their bets on their choice of horse and take their chance on which one will cross the finish line first. One of our Residents became the "horse whisperer" in an effort to get his horse to perform better much to the delight of everyone😄. Our top three winners were so honoured to receive a trophy to proudly display. Giddy up!

Our first bus trip of the summer we ventured to Linda's homestead for a scrumptious picnic lunch, playing big block Jenga, checking out the beautiful flower beds, and enjoying some conversation with our friends on a gorgeous summer day. Everyone had a couple of turns trying to keep the Jenga tower going. If you're wondering who was the person who made the wrong move and caused the tower to fall...you'll have to check out the pics 😁 Thank you Linda for your warm hospitality and for sharing your delicious chocolate chip cookies (what is your secret?). Thank you also to our friends at Brenmar Transit for giving us a lift to our location. And a big thank you to everyone who helped to make this trip so memorable for our Fordwich Family😊 What a great day!

What do we do on a rainy day? We hold a Texas Horseshoe tournament! What a great afternoon of some friendly competition😊. Everyone cheered each other on as we tried to get a bean bag in the centre...that's big points! The points were so close! Congratulations to our 3 top winners who received a trophy filled with some mini chocolate bars to enjoy. We've got some action pics to share with you.

Everyone is welcome to join us at Fordwich Village Nursing Home for our "Walk Through Time... Show and Shine" Car Show on August 13th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Free Registration at 6 pm. To date we have 20 cars with their owners ready to share their "pride and joy" with us🚘. With lively music being provided by Gavin Gardiner. This event is proudly supported and coordinated by our Family Council Chairpersons, Fay and Ty.
