Looking at inning an Intermediate (standard) first aid course end of July or beginning of August.
Would require min of 6 person to run the course.
Would also do a late afternoon BLS for those requiring it.

A significant increase in overdoses have been reported in our community in the last 24 hours. They are suspected to be linked to two different batches of “down” currently being sold on the street. One batch is described as green, while the other is a pale yellow.

If you use substances:

SHARING this Drug Alert from the Lifeguard app:
“A yellow sample presumed to be fentanyl tested pos for Cychlorphine, a newer synthetic opioid believed to be ten times stronger than fentanyl. Using higher potency opioids greatly increases the risk of overdose. Do not use alone, carry naloxone, use a small test dose, and get your drugs tested whenever possible. Reach Thunder Bay's Anonymous Mobile Drug Checking Unit at 807-630-8631.”

Drug Alert: Winnipeg - Tue. May 5, 2026

There have been increased presentations of levamisole toxicity at Thompson General Hospital.

Levamisole is a veterinary de-worming medication that is often used as a cutting agent in CO***NE, because it is a white powder that mimics and prolongs cocaine’s effects.

Levamisole toxicity presents with flu-like symptoms and can include:
-Dangerous drop in white blood cell counts that makes the body vulnerable to severe infections.
-Vasculitis (blood vessel inflammation) that can lead to organ failure and skin lesions, especially on the ears, nose and face.
