Anxiety shows up in kids as worry, avoidance, meltdowns, or physical complaints — not because they’re being difficult, but because their brain is sensing threat.

Pause, stay calm, listen without rushing to fix, and name what you see.

Feeling understood is often the first step toward feeling safe. 💛

Perfectionism is stealing sleep, confidence, and joy from a lot of teens right now.
If you’re tired of never feeling “good enough,” here’s a gentle reminder: you don’t have to live like that.

✨ Exciting Professional Update! ✨
I’m happy to share that I am now a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). 🧠💛
This training deepened my understanding of how the brain and body respond to anxiety, and strengthened the tools I use to support children and teens who are struggling. Anxiety can feel overwhelming — but with the right knowledge and strategies, it is manageable, and no one has to navigate it alone.
I’m looking forward to bringing this expertise into my work and continuing to help students feel safe, seen, and supported. 🩷

I have been overwhelmed (in the best way possible) by the incredible community support I have received in opening my new private practice! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

One month in, and I am finding so much fulfillment in working with such incredible people. It is a gift, when others are willing to share their stories with me. I appreciate the trust that it takes to dive so deeply into tough topics. I am honoured that so many have chosen me to do that with me. 💛

Unbelievably, I am currently full and am now adding names to my waitlist! Send an email to [email protected] and I'll help get you setup on my waitlist for my next availability.

I appreciate all of the love I have received!

With gratitude,
Sarah

Ever notice how a tiny comment, an eye roll, or a meltdown from your child can set off a huge reaction in you?
That’s not you “overreacting.” That’s your nervous system remembering something old.

Maybe it touches a memory of not being heard as a child.

Maybe it brushes up against a belief that “good parents always stay calm.”

Maybe it triggers that old fear of being out of control, or not being enough.

Maybe it pulls forward the exhaustion of trying to hold everything together.

Your reaction is not a failure. It’s information.

Your nervous system is saying, “This feels familiar,” even if you can’t consciously place why.

And here’s the empowering part:
✨ When we understand our triggers, we can respond to our child with more intention and less guilt.
✨ We can show ourselves compassion for carrying burdens we never chose.
✨ We can separate our story from theirs — so their behaviour becomes something to support, not something to fear.

If you find yourself having “big responses” to your child, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad parent.

It means you’re human.

It means there’s a story underneath.

And it means healing is possible — for both you and your child.
You’re doing better than you think. 💛

Does this scenario or something similar, sound familiar?
Does your teen need someone to talk to work through it? I have space for two more clients for in-person services in Fredericton. No waitlist!

Your child loved soccer. ⚽️

One missed goal → teasing/social media comments → shame. 📱

That voice said: “You’re a failure.”

So they quit. Stopped hanging out. Hid. 🙇

Shame makes you believe you’re broken.

Truth? You’re human. You’re worthy. Always.

Talk about it. Shame shrinks when shared.
