🌿Is it normal to feel sore after a massage?🌿
Some people experience temporary muscle soreness or tenderness after massage, particularly if they aren't used to massage or if a targeted pressure was used.
💆♀️It’s very important to me that your massage feels comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable, no matter what type of treatment you’re receiving.
While some therapeutic techniques may create a sense of pressure or mild intensity, your comfort is always a priority. I want you to feel relaxed, cared for, and confident throughout your appointment.
In specific cases massage can remove guarding (such as a slipped disc) when the protection muscles have created is taken away. This is necessary to treat the area, but it can leave the client feeling sore until muscles re-tighten and again protect the body.
Testing is important to prepare the client for this possibility and allow them to decide if treatment is something they would like to pursue that day.
Bruising, headaches, and nausea are all other temporary symptoms that, although not as common, can occur.
Clients are worked with closely to develop a treatment plan that is both comfortable and effective.
