Your router never stops talking. 📶
It broadcasts radio frequency signals 24/7. Even when nobody's streaming, scrolling, or downloading. It doesn't know the difference between 3pm and 3am.
Most Canadian homes now have 10 to 25 connected devices. Phones, tablets, smart speakers, baby monitors, thermostats, doorbells. Every single one communicates with the router constantly.
And the signal doesn't stop at the room the router sits in. It passes through walls, floors, and furniture. That's the whole point.
Health Canada's Safety Code 6 sets limits on RF exposure, but it only accounts for thermal effects. Basically, whether the signal heats your tissue. It doesn't address non-thermal biological effects, which is where most of the independent research is focused.
You don't need to throw out your router. But it's worth knowing what's happening in the background of your home. Especially the bedroom.
