one day you might blink and realize you're as old as the elders who brought you up. I was a messy little teenager sneaking into the gay clubs in Baltimore in the 90s and in AWE of the dolls back then who seemed to be on a whole other level 💅 then one day I looked around and realized I'm often one of the older people in the q***r spaces. what a gift! 🦋

I've seen so much since then, and lost so many beautiful people close to me over the years. this world can be so hard on us and our community, but there really is another level for us who make it there. and we get to carry the energy and power and love of those who didn't make it with us as we shine a light for the babies coming up behind us 💖

I'm so glad you're here. if today was hard, tomorrow is a new day and another chance at this thing. all we have sometimes is each other and our precious community, which you're a part of whether you feel it or not.

q***r community isn't a monolith, it isn't a secret space or group or exclusive club. q***r community sometimes is just you and the person you're sharing a moment with. it doesn't have to be deeper than that.

if there's one thing my trans elders have taught me it's this:
the hate our communities face right now will change again, in time.
like the tides, likes the cycles of the moon.
our resiliency is the only constant.

too many cis providers profit off gatekeeping trans healthcare! while the WPATH letters of readiness for trans surgical care are antiquated and exploitative, they are still required by MSI for approval, and many family doctors still want a therapist letter for youth accessing puberty blockers or hormones (adults do NOT need any sort of letters for hormones under the informed consent model).

the historical pathologization of trans healthcare is one that social workers and therapists have participated in, normalized, and profited from for decades. given that, therapists have an ethical responsibility to help make these letters accessible and free, and to make the process as minimally invasive as we can.

I've needed a bunch of these letters over the years myself to access my own lifesaving gender affirming care, so I love being able to help folks get the care they need in the areas I can. contact me and I'll help get you the letters you need over a quick video chat and at no cost; I'm eager to help make the process as easy for my community as possible 💞

Capitalism forces us to grind, to hustle, to go till we break. I hope you can take a moment today to pause, log off, unclench your jaw, breathe in and exhale 😮‍💨

This world is so hard on q***r and trans folks, and especially racialized q***r folks. We all deserve more gentleness and more rest!��

The trans elders in my life taught me that I need to rest just as much as I need to keep it pushing. I dream of a world where all our q***r and trans siblings can rest more, and fully live in our joy. 💐🩷
