So many women put off reaching out because they feel like they’re “not struggling enough” to deserve support. Or they worry they won’t know what to say. Or life just gets busy and it stays on the to-do list 💙

You don’t need a reason big enough to justify asking for help. Whether something feels off, or you simply want to invest in yourself, that’s more than enough.

Whenever you’re ready, I’m here. 🌿

What are the little things that bring you joy during Kelowna summers? ☀️🍷✨

For us, it’s the slower evenings, lake days, fruit stand stops, warm air coming through the windows, sunset walks, and those moments that make life feel a little lighter again.

There’s something about summer in Kelowna that invites people to live in the moment, reconnect, and come back to themselves — even in small ways.

Sometimes healing doesn’t only look like deep conversations. Sometimes it looks like making space for joy, rest, connection, and the things that make you feel present again 🤍

At Anam Chara Counselling, we believe those small moments matter.

Tell us one thing that you’re looking forward to this summer👇🏼

After birth, everything shifts so quickly.

The focus moves to your baby, your recovery, your new role…and most moms don’t get the space to actually process what they just went through.

Whether your birth felt overwhelming, unexpected, empowering, or confusing - your experience matters.

And when it isn’t processed, it doesn’t just disappear.

It can show up as: feeling more anxious or on edge, replaying parts of your birth, emotional overwhelm that feels hard to explain, disconnection from yourself,
or a sense that something just feels unfinished.

Here in Kelowna, I’ve supported many women through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into motherhood - both as a midwife and now as a counsellor.

I’ve seen how often women move straight into caring for everyone else, without having the space to tend to their own experience.

Processing your birth isn’t about going back.
It’s about making sense of what happened, so your body doesn’t have to keep holding it.

At Anam Chara Counselling, I offer a gentle space for women to process their birth experience at their own pace.

If this resonates, I currently have a few openings for free consultations.

Spring has a way of making us feel like we need to do more.

Reset more. Change more. Become more.

But what if this season wasn’t about adding…
and instead about clearing space?

Space to breathe.
Space to slow down.
Space to notice what actually feels good for you.

Sometimes the most supportive thing for your nervous system
isn’t doing more…
it’s doing less, more intentionally.

Small shifts like these might not look like much,
but they can change how you move through your days entirely.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself…
this is the kind of work we gently explore together.

I have a few openings for free consultations right now
if you’re wanting support in this season

I’ve been sitting with Jess Housty’s poem called Huma, and I’ve been thinking about how replenishment doesn’t always look the same.

Some rain nourishes quietly, tending roots we can’t yet see. Some rain softens what’s been hardened, and some reveals where things aren’t sustainable anymore.

It doesn’t always feel gentle, but all of it can be part of healing

Then there’s the rain that makes us feel alive again,
awakening joy, longing, and even the messy, embodied parts of being human.

The question I’m holding right now is:
What kind of rain is meeting me right now… and what is it asking of me?

Motherhood isn’t one season — it’s a whole journey. And each stage comes with its own joys and challenges.

Trying to conceive
The waiting. The grief no one sees. The comments that cut deeper than people realize.

Preparing for birth
Fear, excitement, and all the things you’re not saying out loud. Feeling your body and identity changing.

Postpartum
When “bouncing back” feels like a lie. When you’re mourning who you were while loving who you’re becoming.

Navigating early parenthood
The invisible load. The emotions that surprises you.

The teenage years
Watching them pull away while still needing you. Grief and pride tangled together.

When they leave
Rediscovering who you are when being a mother looks different.

As a former midwife, I’ve walked closely alongside women through many of these stages. Now as a therapist, I hold space for the parts that often go unseen.

You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. We are here for you in every stage 🧡
