🎶 We tried something a little different this week at Lakeshore Place with our 70’s Musical Bingo!

Residents enjoyed hearing the old songs and many started sharing memories that the music brought back. There was lots of singing along, laughing, and guessing the tunes. 🎤

It was a nice change from regular bingo, and we’re already planning the next one featuring music from the 50’s! 🎵

Wine Club took us to Portugal this time 🇵🇹🍷

Our residents enjoyed a curated tasting of three Portuguese wines, each thoughtfully paired with delicious bites from our talented chef and kitchen team (they really outdid themselves on this one 👏).

Great flavours, great company, and a few very “refined” opinions shared around the table 😉

Next stop: the Okanagan! Keeping it local and supporting our beautiful valley, we’re already looking forward to it 🍇

Big celebration in the house 🇨🇦✨

Our General Manager, Fares, officially became a Canadian citizen and let’s just say a little bird organized quite the surprise 👀

Residents gathered to celebrate him, filling the room like we’ve never seen before. There were smiles, cheers… and yes, a few tears too 🥹

We wrapped it all up with our residents singing the national anthem for hum, a pretty special moment ❤️

Moments like this remind us how strong and genuine our community truly is.

We had the sweetest, most relaxing girly afternoon in the lobby 🎨💕

Megan hosted a cozy painting session with soft, calming music playing in the background and it turned into a full-on peaceful vibe. Brushes were moving, creativity was flowing, and for a moment, everything just slowed down.

It wasn’t just for the artists either… even residents passing by found themselves stopping, watching, and soaking in the calm. It felt a little like meditation, but with paint and good company 🧘‍♀️✨

Mini golf season is officially ON ⛳️😎

Our residents kicked things off in style today, with the sun showing up right on cue (finally doing its job 🌞). There were some very serious swings, a few “strategic” misses… and lots of laughs along the way.

And honestly, the highlight? One of our residents absolutely owning the course while rocking her special boot. Nothing was slowing her down, if anything, it might’ve improved her game 💪

Safe to say, it’s going to be a competitive (and hilarious) season ahead. 🏆

🎤 Conference | That’s 70s 🕰️

In April, residents had the pleasure of attending a fascinating conference on the major sociological movements of the 1970s ✨

Tailored specifically for Cogir residents, the talk—led by Paul Dias—explored the rise of new civic movements ✊and the transformation of social and family roles.

We’re delighted to share some key takeaways from this inspiring conference. Enjoy!

🌿 Green Week in Motion at Lakeshore Place 🌿

Our residents had such a wonderful time participating in Green Week in Motion, part of the Cogir Live to the Fullest Festival! 💚

Throughout the week, we focused on movement, wellness, and fun with daily activities:

✨ Monday – Chair Yoga & Line Dancing
🎳 Tuesday – Wii Bowling
🌿 Wednesday – Chair Tai Chi
🚶‍♀️ Thursday – Outdoor Walk
💪 Friday – Body Work
🧘 Saturday – Yoga Class

It was amazing to see everyone staying active, supporting one another, and embracing healthy habits. From laughter during games to peaceful moments of mindfulness, the energy all week long was truly uplifting.

At Lakeshore Place, we love creating opportunities for our residents to stay engaged, build connections, and take care of both their body and mind. 💫
