3 of my bridesmaids are people I work with on yoga retreats and at YOGA TEACHER TRAININGS | YOGA SCHOOL (one couldn’t make it to the wedding, but she still counts!)

So I had this moment- are poeple only friends with me because I pay them? No.

That is a stupid insecurity.

The fact is I work with amazing people who I love. We travel, live and work hard together and we get SO close doing this on yoga reteats and teacher trainings...

Somehow those working relationships became the kind of friendships that stand beside you on your wedding day.

The best part of building this business hasn’t always been the destinations. It’s the people.

Sometimes your work people become your people.

Just creating something together, laughing through the chaos and showing up for each other long after the work was finished. Seeing them at my wedding meant the world and I cried every time I looked at my bridesmaids!

What are you going to call me?

I am not responsible for your perceptions of me.
I am not responsible for the names you call me in your head or to my face.
I am not responsible for your judgments or misconceptions.

I know who I am.

….

I’ve long been an advocate for women feeling 100% safe and comfortable in their skin.

I believe in a liberal society we should be allowed to wear what we want without fear of judgment or repercussion. My clothes aren’t who I am.

I’ve travelled to over 50 countries. I believe in being a consciousness and respectful tourist. I cover up when I’m somewhere that the culture calls for it. But I will not modify my style, in a liberal setting, because you can’t control yourself.

It is not my responsibility as a woman to keep you from violence because of my clothing choices.

Maybe instead of teaching women to cover up, we should others how to not be predators?
