Southeast Public Health recently alerted the community about their investigation of an outbreak of cryptosporidiosis, a parasite that causes stomach illness. This parasite is mainly spread through contaminated food and drink, or through contact with infected f***s, including in public swimming pools and splash pads.

We take the cleanliness of our swimming and splashing facilities seriously and always follow public health protocols when a person presents symptoms after being in those facilities. Our indoor swimming facility is equipped with both primary (chlorine) and secondary (UV) disinfection systems, and our facility disinfection practices meet or exceed all guidelines from local public health authorities.

We ask the public to help us keep our swimming pools and splash pads safe for everyone by:

➡️ staying out of pools, hot tubs and splashpads if you have diarrhea, and for 14 days after diarrhea has stopped.
➡️showering before and after swimming.
➡️changing water diapers frequently.
➡️washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water after using the washroom or changing diapers.
