Adventures Newfoundland , formerly Canoe Hill Adventures, was founded in 2002 and is dedicated to providing quality sea kayaking experiences and Boat tours in the Bay of Exploits, Newfoundland and Labrador. We also offer kayak rentals as well as support to those who prefer to go it alone. Soon to come will be the addition of a remote accommodations facility located at the Surgeon Cove Head lighthouse property on historic Exploits Island.

Every year or so , we get guest here at Adventures Newfoundland who are searching for their distant relatives. This season, we hosted Judy Van Nus and her husband Richard from Kelowna BC . Judy is believed to be a descendant of Luke Manuel , one of the famous seven Manuel brothers of Exploits Island . They visited the gravesite of Joseph and Elizabeth Manuel who were the parents of the seven brothers as well as a visit to what’s known as the “ Manuel house” .
It doesn’t take long to strike up a conversation with the locals . Richard and Don Taylor talk about music while Kathleen and Judy look for clues in the Manuel family tree book .
Of course a multi-day trip with us , in season, hardly ever ends without a lobster feast .
