Dedicated, thorough and always willing to get their paws dirty. This curious cat took it upon themselves to inspect our garbage can and ensure no treats, crumbs or suspiciously delicious wrappers had been overlooked. 👀🗑️

🐾 September is... Animal Pain Awareness Month 💙

Did you know pets can experience pain without making it obvious? September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, helping pet parents recognize subtle signs of pain.

🐶🐱 Watch for changes such as:

Sleeping more or having less energy
Limping or difficulty getting up
Less interest in playing or walking
Changes in appetite
Excessive licking or grooming
Difficulty jumping or using stairs
Hiding or becoming less social
Heavy or excessive panting

Especially in senior pets, slowing down can sometimes be mistaken for “just getting old.” But aging doesn’t mean your pet has to live with pain. 🩵

If you notice changes in your pet’s behavior, activity, appetite, or mobility, talk to your veterinarian. Early recognition can help improve your pet’s comfort and quality of life.

🐾 Meet Luna, Our Pet of the Month! 🐾

Luna first came to us with vomiting, loss of appetite, and low energy. Although her initial tests were normal, she wasn’t improving, so she returned two days later for further evaluation.

Our team recommended exploratory surgery, where we discovered a foreign object resembling part of a dog toy in her digestive tract. 😳🐾

Thankfully, Luna recovered beautifully! At her 10-day follow-up, her appetite, activity, and bowel function were back to normal, and her incision was healing well.

Even better, Luna was back to playing and lying on her back again, a position she hadn’t been comfortable doing for months! 🥰💙

A big thank-you to Luna’s family for closely monitoring her and following her recovery plan. We’re so happy to see this sweet girl back to her happy, playful self!

Great job, Luna! 🐶❤️

🐾MEET THE TEAM: LILY! 🐾

Today, we’re introducing Lily, one of the wonderful members of the Lethbridge Pet Hospital team! 🩺🐶🐱

Lily is known for being incredibly gentle and caring with our patients. She takes the time to make pets feel comfortable and safe, and she’s always clear and thorough when communicating with their owners. 💙

She also plays an important role in anesthesia monitoring, helping make sure our patients are closely monitored and kept safe throughout their procedures. 🩺🐾

And of course, she has a special little helper, our clinic cat, Peanut! 🐱
