Helen Marjorie Elliott

Helen Marjorie Elliott was born on August 14, 1941, to her parents, George and Hannah Carlson, on a farm north of Nightingale, AB.

She took her schooling in Rockyford, AB, and Strathmore, AB. In 1958, we were introduced by mutual friends. We were married on February 27, 1960.

Helen was an excellent farmer’s wife. She could help with chores and run machinery; for years, she was the harvest truck driver.

Helen loved all animals (Skunks, Raccoons, and Porcupines were the exceptions). She truly loved calving time. She made many a trip through the corrals at night to check on the cows.

She spent a lot of time taking the boys to hockey games and watching them play. She loved to garden and always grew a big garden. She loved to ride her quad, checking cattle and trapping gophers.

Helen is survived by her husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Elliott; her sons, Clinton, Rodney and Robert (Tirzah) Elliott; her grandsons, Noah (Jade), Ben and Luke; and Jodney Molina and his mother, Marissa. As well as lots of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; her four brothers; her one sister; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; her five sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.

There will be no formal Funeral Services held.

If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to STARS, Carbon Fire Department or a charity of your choice.

At Sunset Funeral Service Ltd. we recognize that the sacred work of honouring life, supporting the grieving, and returning loved ones to the earth takes place on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Siksika Nation, Kainai Nation, Piikani Nation; Stoney Nakoda Nations, Bearspaw First Nation, Chiniki First Nation, Wesley First Nation; and the Tsuut'ina Nation covered by Treaty 7. We offer our deepest respect to the Elders, past, present, and emerging, who have cared for this land since time immemorial.

Vernon 'Ken' Kenneth Rector

Vernon ‘Ken’ Kenneth Rector, was born on March 15, 1942, in Pickardville, AB. He passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, September 28, 2026, in Three Hills, AB, at the age of 84 years.

Ken spent the early years of his life with his Mom and sister, growing up in Pickardville, as his Dad was serving in World War II. After high school, he moved to Calgary to pursue a career in Welding. While there, he married Donna on December 28, 1970. Ken went to Fox Creek, AB, in 1971 for a 2-month job and never left. He and his wife, Donna, built a successful business in Fox Creek, where they resided for 50 years.

Ken loved to golf, hunt, play hockey and was a handyman who devoted his time to many projects around Fox Creek, including improvements to the church, cemetery; and after his retirement he took on the project of building a beautiful home where many family gatherings were held. He took great pride in keeping his yard looking like a park.

Ken loved people, he was always ready to share a joke or a drink with anyone who stopped by. He had many one-liners that he is remembered for.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna and by his family, who were an important part of his life. He is survived by his sons, Greg (Chrisie), Rick (Trisha) and by his daughter Sheri (Craig). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Justine (Tyler), Russel, Julianna (Reagan), Claire, Eric, Luke, Kaylee (Lindsey), Braeden, Colton (Michelle), Bradley (Victoria) and Sara (Michael). His great-grandchildren Sadie, Mark, Susanna, Liam, Max, Jacob, Ellowyn, Oaklee, Anna-Rose, Arthur, Lexie and Kiera will also cherish his memory.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Mary Rector; his sister, Deanna Carlson; and his son, Dwight Rector.

Ken’s memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and they take comfort knowing that he is in the arms of Jesus now.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, Three Hills, AB, with a Reception to follow at the church. A Private Graveside Service will take place prior to the Service.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Rector's service, streamed live HERE on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording will be posted.

If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Three Hills Area Food Bank Society or the Hope Mission.

Witnessing the cremation of a loved one provides profound psychological closure by offering a tangible end to a loved one's final journey. It allows families to say their goodbyes in a dignified setting and honours specific cultural or religious traditions.

Generally, anything that is highly combustible, non-hazardous, and free of electronics or heavy metals can be cremated with your loved one. And all items must fit safely within the cremation container or casket.

Witnessing the cremation process is an emotional experience. Some families feel peace in knowing they were present. Others may feel a wave of sadness or surprise at the reality of the moment.

Lee Roy Fuller

Lee Roy Fuller, born on July 6, 1948, in Swalwell, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in Didsbury, AB, at the age of 78 years.

On September 24, 2026, at the age of 78, Lee Fuller passed away peacefully while holding the hand of his son. Lee demonstrated a calmness and quiet endurance throughout all the health challenges he faced. His "take it as it comes" and "one day at a time" mindset encouraged us all and saw him reach his goals of attending the wedding of his grandson and witnessing the birth of his great-grandson, even when he was so sick.

Family, friends, and hospital staff noticed how Lee lived in such a way as to not burden others, always purposefully putting his family first. Everyone that knew Lee remembers just how truly kind he was.

Lee never stopped missing the love of his life, Patricia Fuller, and we are so thankful to know he is with her again.

He is survived by his three children, Rhonda (Shane), Rick (Karen), and Marni (Dustin). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Donna Pfeifle (Chris), Dave Fuller (Judy), Brenda Pfeifle, Wayne Davidson, and Wendy Joujan.

Lee grew up in the Swalwell, AB, area, the son of Paul and Daisy Fuller. After their wedding, Lee and Pat lived in the United States for about ten years. They then moved back to Canada, settling in Linden for two years before achieving their dream of buying a farm of their own. What started out as seven pigs in the old red barn evolved into a thriving hog business. As well as being a loving and devoted husband and father, Lee was a loyal and valuable employee, working for Bertram Drilling for 54 years.

"In times of suffering, you see a person's true character. Lee stayed calm, accepting, and others-minded first. His last words to each of his family members over the final days were 'I love you.' We will miss him until we see him again."

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Linden Mennonite Brethren Church, Linden, AB, with a Reception to follow. A Graveside Service will be held at the Acme Cemetery after the Reception.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Fuller's service, streamed live HERE on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording will be posted.

If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
