🐾 A noticeable difference after treatment. 🐾

After working with this handler for a few years, I had the pleasure of working on her dog last weekend following their first round.

We focused on getting the dog moving and feeling her best, and the results in the following rounds were exciting to see β€’ increased speed β€’ more catches in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

It’s hard not to appreciate the attentiveness a dog has to their handler. When the body is moving well and the dog can perform comfortably, that connection can really shine.

🏈 β€œI’m fine.” β€œIt’s nothing.” β€œI can play through it.”

Sound familiar?

The first games are already underway, and the season is just getting started. Hard training, conditioning and contact are putting increasing demands on the body.

Pain doesn’t get better by pushing through it. The body gets used to it, and you begin moving differently to compensate. Over time, those changes can put additional stress on the body and make you more susceptible to further pain or injury.

Whether it’s a new injury, something that’s been bothering you for weeks, or simply movement that doesn’t feel right β€’ address it before it becomes a bigger problem.

RAPID can be used as little as 24 hours after an incident, with many clients noticing meaningful or completw changes in just 1 or 2 sessions.

Book before pain affects the game.

β€’ Lake Days β€’ Baseball β€’ Hiking β€’ Travel β€’ Long days on your feet. Whatever filled your summer, don’t carry those aches and restrictions into a busy fall.

RAPID targets the areas that are most reactive to help reduce pain and improve movement so you can get back to doing what you need to do quickly.

Absolutely

This picture ruffles feathers…

When we say RAPID is not a massage technique, we are not insulting massage.

We are being accurate.

Massage therapy is the profession.

RAPID is a clinical therapeutic technique that many massage therapists are incredibly skilled at using within their scope of practice.

But RAPID does not follow the structure of a traditional massage session.

It is not about oil.

It is not about draping.

It is not muscle kneading.

It is not a relaxation flow.

It is not a full-body routine.

And it is not about spending a set amount of time on one area just because that is what the appointment says.

RAPID is active.

It is assessment-driven.

It is position-specific.

It is neurologically focused.

Clients are often clothed. They may start seated, move to prone, shift to supine, and end in a functional position, all in one session.

We are constantly reassessing.

Did the pain change?

Did the range change?

Did the tone change?

Did movement tolerance improve?

Did strength, function, or confidence shift?

That does not make RAPID better than massage.

It makes it different from massage.

And that difference matters.

Because when we try to shove RAPID into a traditional massage framework, therapists get frustrated and clients do not always get the full benefit of the work.

Many massage therapists use RAPID beautifully in their practices.

But they usually do that by offering it as a clinical treatment, not by trying to sneak it into the middle of a relaxation massage and hope no one notices.

So no, RAPID is not massage.

RAPID is a clinical manual therapy technique that many massage therapists are uniquely skilled to deliver.

Massage is the profession.

RAPID is the intervention.

I was kicked by a horse ... exactly a week ago ... lucky to be able to work on myself ... took it easy weeknights yet still worked on 2 horses (same & next day), cleaned out the rv, worked on 17 clients and did a 2 day first aid course this week all without a single pill ... I will be going to my dr to request ultrasound though with what I still feel to check ligaments, picture of just now

Pain is a conversation between the tissues, immune system and nervous system.

In the tissues.
Around peripheral nerves.
Inside the dorsal root ganglia.
Within the spinal cord.
All the way into the brain.

Immune cells release chemical messengers that can change how sensitive and excitable nociceptive neurons become.

Yet the conversation goes both ways.

Nociceptive neurons also release Substance P and CGRP that influence immune activity and inflammation.

In acute injury, this communication can be protective. It helps identify a problem, protect the area and support repair.

When that conversation fails to resolve, it may help keep the nervous system sensitive long after the original injury has changed.

This is why persistent pain cannot always be explained by a tight muscle, damaged tissue or an ugly scan.

And it certainly cannot always be solved by rubbing harder.

Pain is biological.
It is neurological.
It is immunological.

The science of pain is getting much bigger than muscles.
RAPID treatments are too.
