What a fantastic day at the Vancouver Writer’s Festival yesterday, listening to brilliant Canadian authors such as Jordan Abel and Jess Housty. Our upcoming Words at Work: Stories as “Equipment for Living” Program will include the poetry of these amazing authors, in conversation with the stories of the remarkable Colm Tobin and Margaret Laurence. Friends and colleagues,
Our Words at Work summer intersession program is wrapping up! Added to our thoughtful discussions of the engravings and poetry of William Blake, Colm Tobien’s new short stories, and Sophocles "Antigone," this remarkable group made a field excursion to the updated Kate Besworth adaptation of this play at Bard on the Beach in Vancover! If you have not seen this play, there is much to be said about this transformative performance. Here's a link to a few clips from Antigone.https://bardonthebeach.org/whats-on/antigone/

Wonderful new book by the remarkable Jordan Abel.

Told in the style of brief musings and anecdotes interspersed with artwork by Abel’s father, the book coheres into a tender, frank, and joyful portrait of what it means to him to be a dad. Read the full review here: https://bit.ly/4cWwxBD

Colleagues and friends, In celebration of National Poetry Month, here's a little poem by William Blake. The wonderful Canadian Singer/Songwriter/Storyteller, Leroy Stagger reminded me about Blake's poetry and contemporary relevance at his recent concert in Chilliwack.
