Welcome to my new little office space! ✨🤍

I’m so excited to share this space with my clients. 😊

My career has taken me down many different paths, but this chapter is my favourite by far. I’m continually inspired and encouraged by every person I get to connect with and walk alongside.

My hope is that this space becomes so much more than just an office - that it’s a peaceful place for truth, growth, and healing for everyone who walks through these doors.

Also, meet the office mascot, Freddy 🐸

Come visit meeee!

Inner child work is really about getting to know yourself better.

It’s about reconnecting with parts of you that were shaped by early experiences—and learning how to support yourself in ways you might have needed back then.

It’s reminding your younger self:
✨ You’re safe now.
✨ Your feelings make sense.
✨ You’re trying—and that matters.

As you start to show up for yourself in small, consistent ways, old habits that once protected you begin to shift. You’re no longer reacting from fear, but responding with more understanding and confidence.

Our entire lives are often DRIVEN by avoidance of pain and discomfort. We tirelessly arrange ourselves and our lives in such a way to avoid feeling UNCOMFORTABLE.

We people-please to avoid conflict.
We become perfectionists to avoid criticism.
We self-sabotage relationships to avoid rejection or abandonment.
We overwork ourselves to avoid loneliness.
We use substances or distractions to avoid sadness and anxiety.

We repeat our ways of being day in and day out in an effort to avoid discomfort, often not realizing that these cyclical patterns are actually causing us more stress and pain.

That stress and pain is what often brings people into therapy.

We blame stressors in their lives, the people around us, our jobs, or our overall environment. We change jobs, cut off relationships, and maybe even move cities.

But the problem lies within.
As long as you keep running, the stress will keep following.

It’s not easy to address your fears and push through the discomfort of changing old habits, but that’s where true change begins.

🩹 Until you address the root causes of your stress and pain, you’ll be slapping on bandaids and exhausting yourself out by running away.

OWN your pain. CONFRONT your fears. EXPAND your window of tolerance for discomfort. BE uncomfortable. BREAK the cycle.

✨ Change takes hard work and a LOT of intentional effort - but trust me, it’s is worth it.

Inner child work isn’t about blaming your parents, blaming yourself, or trying to rewrite the past.

It’s about recognizing that many of the patterns you struggle with today - people pleasing, perfectionism, avoidance, codependency - are old coping strategies that helped your younger self.

Inner child work is about recognizing that these behaviors stem from fundamental human needs - love, acceptance, safety - but it’s also about learning how to respond to those needs differently now, as an older, wiser adult.

There are healthier ways to respond to those needs - ways that involve awareness, understanding, and care. 🤍

Stay tuned for part 2!

Anxiety often comes from trying to control the uncontrollable.

That’s where the Circle of Control can be a game-changer in therapy.

It breaks life into 2 general zones:
✔️ What you CAN control – your thoughts, choices, attitude, actions, and reactions.
❌ What you CAN’T control – the past, the future, other people’s feelings, other people’s behaviours, the weather, or the news.

In therapy, we use this tool to help you shift your focus and energy away from frustration and toward clarity.

When you’re focused on what you can control, you tend to feel more grounded, calm, and capable — even amidst chaos.

Next time you feel anxious about something, try asking yourself:
“Is this within my control?”

If not, then it might be time to shift your focus and work within what IS in your control.

So many of our daily thoughts, reactions, and struggles trace back to core beliefs—those deep, often unspoken ideas we carry about ourselves and the world.

Some beliefs quietly build us up.
Others limit us without us even realizing it.

The good news?
We can become aware of them.
We can choose differently.

🌱 Growth begins with noticing.

hi! I’m Evangelynn, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist.

after spending the last 10 years working with people struggling with extreme poverty, addiction, and mental health challenges, i realized that without hope, life loses its purpose and meaning.

without hope, we are just ships at sea, drifting away without an anchor.

and if i’m being honest, that was me for many years of my life. i was hurting, lost, and absolutely hopeless.

but then i found a Hope. a Hope that has brought me not only peace, but purpose and meaning.

I started EverHope Counselling & Psychotherapy because i believe that there IS hope and purpose for every single person on this earth - regardless of who they are, what they’ve done, or what they’ve been through.

so whether you’re facing life challenges, struggling with your faith, dealing with stress, or just need someone to talk to, my goal is to support you in finding your hope, healing, and purpose.

✨ let’s get this started, together. book a free 15-minute meet and greet with me. let’s connect, talk about what’s going on for you, and plan a path forward. ✨
