HIV Disclosure Project Published here are articles,images, thoughts, humour, music and photographs which address the challenges of living with and disclosing HIV.

As a means of understanding obstacles which prevent people living with HIV from disclosing to potential sex partners this page is designed by and for the HIV community and allies, who contribute using humour, role play, stories, images, articles, photographs, videos and any other type of media to address stigma, fear, terminology which reinforces stigma on the dating scene and criminalization. The focus remains on educating the public about people living with HIV as we strives to promote tolerance, acceptance and understanding, on changing public perceptions of the reality of people living with HIV and to challenge the criminal justice system which criminalizes people living with HIV . Using this approach the goal is to empower individuals who are at potential risk when disclosing their HIV status, externalize stigma, and emphasize the importance of taking individual responsibility for ones’ own sexual health. More men are using testosterone than ever before. Prescriptions for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) increased by 27% from 2018 to 2024, including a 58% increase among men aged between 35 and 44 years, a demographic in which a physician wouldn't expect to see symptoms associated with low testosterone. The American Urological Association estimates that perhaps a third of TRT recipients don't meet diagnostic criteria, and as many as 1 in 4 receive prescriptions without any measurement of their testosterone levels.

Experts point to the influence of social media and the proliferation of online clinics marketing testosterone as a lifestyle product. Research also suggests that many are reluctant to disclose their steroid use to clinicians, often because they anticipate judgment or lack confidence in the doctor's ability to provide meaningful information or advice. "In further study of this issue, research indicates that women often have less information about HIV and fewer resources to take preventive measures." Indeed this is true, but HIV institutions themselves do not promote necessary information to women at risk.

Women, who have traditionally dealt with s*xism and unequal power dynamics with men, must be included in HIV policy and advocacy.
