Abundance is here, it's time to gather and preserve
Currently there are many wild herbs, spearmint, red clover, yarrow, all waiting to be prepared for year round healing
In my planters I have lobelia in full bloom just about at a point to harvest, however the ones I am most excited about this year are motherwort and mugwort
Motherwort has been my saving grace over the last few years. In moments of heavy grief from loses beyond what I could have ever prepared myself for motherwort was there to hold me and comfort me. Taking it in tincture form was like receiving a giant hug. In moments where I was so overwhelmed from loss that I couldn't even breathe or maybe just didn't want to, I could reach for her and know that I was loved.
Its scientific name is Leonurus cardiaca, lions heart, and now that it is Leo season, the season of the Lion, it is ready to harvest. You don't have to study and memorize to learn how plants relate to astrology, you simply have to pay attention and listen
This is not a herb to take when you have a body already in a low state such as hypothyroid, also use caution if you are on any medications. It is advised not to take during pregnancy however many midwives will encourage its use during labor and shortly after as it calms anxiety and helps you stay present while becoming a mother.
As for mugwort, well, this is the dream maker, the one that is reached for all to often to bring vision, to help with dreams, and it is used for healing wounds to the reproductive area. The womb is where women create, grow new, shed, reproduce, this is where our dreams are brought to life. This is also where women tend to have the most wounding. No wonder there are so many female problems with the reproductive area, We are meant to create and produce from here yet many of us carry nightmares that we do not know how to face so we have buried them deep and now they come out as pain, heavy cycles, mood swings. Mugwort brings us back to dreamwork, creativity, release. A powerhouse of wonder
