Grab bars in, floors untouched. πŸ› οΈ

Before any tool comes out, the hallway floor is covered and taped. Shoes off, drop sheets down, and the home is left exactly as it was found, apart from two new stainless steel grab bars fixed to the wall structure.

Grab Bars, Supplied and Installed: two bars for $329, installed within 48 hours. Extra bars from $99.

Accessible does not mean medical. 🚿

A curbless shower is simply a better shower: no step to climb, nothing to trip on, easier to clean, and a bathroom that looks like a design magazine, not a hospital. The same room works at 45 and at 85.

Pictures from a recent Still at Home project in Ottawa. Walk-in and curbless showers, designed and built with linear drains, built-in niches and heated floors where wanted. Finalist, 2026 Housing Design Awards.

Free written quote. Grants and tax credits may apply.

This Bloomberg story stayed with us.

It describes something we see in homes and at community events all the time. Almost everyone wants to stay in the home they love, yet very few plan for it. Most decisions get made only after a fall, a hospital stay, or a big life change, when there are far fewer options.

We get it. Nobody wants to feel like they're "getting old." But a few thoughtful changes made early aren't about giving in. They're about staying independent, confident, and in charge of your own choices for years to come.

That's why we offer a free home safety walkthrough. No pressure, no sales pitch, just a friendly look at what could make everyday life easier.

When did you or your family first start talking about planning ahead?

Good design shows up in the details you use every day. ✨

In this open-concept kitchen, the bar-style cabinet pulls are easy to grip, the single-lever faucet works with one hand, and there's plenty of open floor to move around the island. On the stairs, the warm wood treads stand out clearly against the white risers so each step is easy to see, and a solid, continuous handrail runs the full flight.

It's a home that looks this good and is still made to stay in for the long run.

Light, space, and a view of the garden from every seat. 🌿

This living room is designed to be enjoyed for years to come: wide, open pathways, continuous flooring with no thresholds to step over, and armchairs at a comfortable height with sturdy arms. Every detail makes the room easier to live in, and it still looks beautiful.

That's what aging in place should feel like: your home, your style, made to fit the life you want to keep living.

Would your parents' house score above 80 on safety?

We built a free tool that answers a question many families quietly carry: is the home still keeping up with the person living in it?

The Home Safety Score walks you through six rooms in about five minutes. It starts with a few questions about the person, because two front steps mean something different for someone with a walker than for someone who runs 5k, and then scores the house out of 100.

You get the score, the rooms that need attention first, and the government funding programs that may help pay for the fixes. The answers about the person are never stored or sent anywhere; they are only used to calculate the result on your own device.

Free, five minutes, no sign-up needed:

Because the goal was never to move them out. It is to make the house keep up.
