🚨 SUMMER CAMP MEALS: 50% FUNDED! 🚨

Strong communities look out for one another. It is a simple truth we live by here in Ottawa: a child's access to fresh, healthy food shouldn't stop just because the school year ends.

Thanks to a phenomenal $25,000 grant from the Ottawa Community Foundation and locked-in public funding for our neighbors in motel shelter sites, our summer camp meal program is officially 50% FUNDED! Hundreds of local children are already guaranteed a reliable daily meal.

Now, we are inviting our Ottawa neighbors to help us clear the final piece of the puzzle so no child is left behind. Our program breaks down to completely transparent math:

🍎 $30 bridges the gap for one child for a full week of camp.
🥪 $250 ensures a child has fresh, reliable daily meals (breakfast and lunch) for all 8 weeks of summer break.

If you are in a position to help us cross the finish line, join us today. Every single dollar goes directly to feeding kids right here in our community.

What does “the Canada we want” look like?

At , Nutrition Blocs Executive Director Abhijit Potdar joined the Distinguished Speaker Series fireside discussion, “Ottawa: The Canada We Want.”

Reflecting on his own newcomer journey, Abhijit spoke about arriving in Canada with hope, uncertainty, and a deep need for community. He also shared how collaboration can create the kind of support systems that help newcomers, families, and children thrive.

That same belief guides our work at Nutrition Blocs.

Every day, we help remove barriers for school-aged children and families by delivering fresh, culturally relevant meals where children learn, live, and grow.

Because food access is about more than a meal.

It is about dignity.
It is about inclusion.
It is about making sure every child feels seen, supported, and ready to thrive.

As Abhijit shared, “1 + 1 can equal eleven.”

When communities work together, impact does not just add up. It multiplies.

Thank you to Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership for creating space for this important conversation and for championing a fair, welcoming, and inclusive Ottawa.

We’re proud to be the Official Food Sponsor for all volunteers at the 2026 Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival and honoured to once again be named a beneficiary of this incredible community event.

At Nutrition Blocs, we know that strong communities are built when we come together to support one another. While volunteers power the festival, your support helps power something even bigger: year-round access to nourishing, culturally relevant meals for school-aged children across Ottawa.

Every meal we deliver fuels learning, confidence, and possibility because hunger should never limit a child’s potential.

If you’re heading to the festival tomorrow, stop by, say hello, and learn more about how we’re working alongside local partners to ensure every child has access to the nutrition they need to thrive.

Come cheer on the teams, celebrate community, and help us fuel children’s futures, one meal at a time.

📍 See you at the 2026 Dragon Boat Festival!

Yasmin Syrian Cooking was founded by a refugee woman who created a space for other newcomer women to build meaningful work and connection.

Today, this woman-led, woman-operated social enterprise supports school lunch programs in partnership with Nutrition Blocs, helping provide meals to school-aged children across Ottawa.

At the same time, it creates opportunities for women to grow, lead, and contribute to their community.

Because when people are supported, entire communities benefit.

On May 14, 2026, golfers, partners, and supporters will come together at the Stonebridge Golf Club for a day that blends competition, connection, and community impact.

Nutrition Blocs is proud to be one of this year’s beneficiaries.

Every drive, every putt, every laugh shared on the course helps bring nutritious meals to children who need them most.

Because when a community shows up like this, real change happens.

When a community overlooks its youngest citizens experiencing hunger, cracks begin to show. Opportunities are missed, hopes fade, and futures go unfulfilled. Nutrition Blocs is working hard to change that.
In partnership with the SWAG (Students Will All Graduate) program, we support youth aged 13-18 from low-income families, offering more than just food. We are offering them a clear path forward through support because every young person deserves to grow up with the opportunities and the nourishment they need to thrive.
Please help us address hunger amongst school-aged children in Ottawa by donating on our website.
