It’s pelvic health awareness month! Keeping up with your pelvic health is essential during pregnancy and after you give birth. If you’re experiencing issues such as urinary frequency, incontinence, and muscle dysfunction, a pelvic floor physiotherapist may be the solution you’re looking for!

Need help finding the right physiotherapist? As a doula and social worker, I pride myself on my ability to connect clients with resources they need to thrive in their perinatal period. Curious about my qualifications and experience? Book a free consultation with me at keeganprempeh.com

Check out this request from the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre!

The Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre is seeking volunteer speakers to share their birth experience!

Did you give birth at the OBWC and want to support expecting parents by sharing your story?

We are currently looking for someone available to speak at our next Choice of Birthplace information session on June 15th, 2026, and are also seeking speakers for future sessions.

These sessions are offered virtually or in person on the third Monday of each month from 6:00–8:00 PM.

Led by a midwife facilitator, the sessions provide information about birth options at the Birth Centre, at home, and in hospital.

Guest speakers play an important role by sharing their personal experiences with expecting parents who are exploring their options and preparing for birth.

Interested in participating?

Please email us at [email protected] with:
• A short summary of your birth experience
• Your interest in speaking at an upcoming session
• Whether you are available for virtual sessions, in-person sessions, or both

If you are pregnant and would like to attend an upcoming Choice of Birthplace information session, visit our website to sign up.

Know someone who had a great experience giving birth at the OBWC? Send them this post!

Thank you for helping us support and inform growing families in our community.

A Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machine is a great tool to help manage discomfort during the early stages of labour. It works by sending electrical pulses through electrode pads that can block or change sensations of pain. You can watch a video about them here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=40lv-WANbtM,

What other tools did you use to help you cope with labour? Comment below!
