Special Miigwetch to Adams Bros Construction Ltd.

Bsaanibamaadsiwin would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Adams Bros Construction for their generous support of Our Tipi project West Parry Sound Health Centre.

Community partnerships are at the heart of meaningful change, and Adams Bros. demonstrated what it means to give back by contributing their time, expertise, and support to help bring this vision to life.

Their generosity helped create a permanent space that now stands as an extension of Noojimowin Bimaadziwin Gamik, the Indigenous Healing Room at West Parry Sound Health Centre—a place where families, and communities can gather for healing, ceremony, teaching, reflection, and connection.

Our Tipi represents far more than a structure. It is a symbol of relationship building, cultural safety, Indigenous presence within healthcare, and our collective commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

Projects like this are only possible when community partners step forward with open hearts and a shared vision. Adams Bros’ support is a meaningful example of reconciliation through action and demonstrates how local businesses can play an important role in creating lasting spaces for community wellness.

From all of us at Bsaanibamaadsiwin, Miigwetch to the entire Adams Bros team for standing beside us on this journey. Your generosity and community spirit have helped create something that will continue to serve our communities for many years to come.

Together, we are building more than structures—we are building relationships, trust, and a future where Indigenous cultures, teachings, and healing are welcomed, respected, and celebrated.

Our Tipi Raised...Our Hearts Lifted

On June 16, 2026, B'saanibamaadsiwin was honoured to gather with community members, Elders, Knowledge Holders, partners, and supporters to raise our Tipi at the West Parry Sound Health Centre.

This beautiful initiative was made possible through a meaningful partnership between B'saanibamaadsiwin and WPSHC. B'saanibamaadsiwin provided the Tipi, and WPSHC generously created and dedicated the space where it now stands. Together, this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to relationship building, Truth and Reconciliation, and creating welcoming spaces where our communities can gather.

Our Tipi is an extension of the Noojimowin Bimaadziwin Gamik-Indigenous Healing Room at the West Parry Sound Health Centre. Together, these spaces create opportunities for healing, ceremony, reflection, teaching, connection, and cultural wellness. They offer a place where community members can gather, find comfort, share teachings, and access support in a culturally meaningful way.

This Tipi stands as more than a physical space. It is a symbol of partnership, reconciliation, and the ongoing work of creating culturally safer and more inclusive healthcare experiences grounded in respect, understanding, and relationship.

We extend our deepest appreciation to our valued partners:

🍓 West Parry Sound Health Centre
🍓 West Parry Sound Ontario Health Team
🍓 CMHA Muskoka-Parry Sound

Together, we continue to strengthen relationships and create pathways for Indigenous wellness, healing, and belonging throughout the region.

A heartfelt Miigwetch to our Tipi Builders, Terrance and Norm, whose knowledge, leadership, teachings, and dedication guided the raising of our Tipi in a good way. Their care and commitment helped ensure this important cultural space was raised with respect, intention, and beautiful beginnings.

A special Miigwetch to Adams Bros Construction Ltd.n for their generosity, community spirit, and support of this project. Your contribution reflects the strength of community partnerships and your commitment to helping create meaningful spaces that will benefit our communities.

A special Miigwetch to James Bowler for documenting this historic day through photography and video. By capturing the raising of our Tipi, the people, the partnerships, and the spirit of the day, you have helped preserve these memories for our communities and future generations. Through your photographs, time-lapse video, and media coverage, the story of this important day can continue to be shared and celebrated.

Miigwetch to the Elders who participated in the placement of the poles and shared their presence, guidance, teachings, and support throughout the day. Your involvement grounded the day in respect, culture, and community.

Miigwetch to everyone who assisted throughout the day—those who lifted poles, shared knowledge, provided support, helped organize, prepared the site, offered food and refreshments, and contributed their time and energy. Every act of kindness and assistance added to the beauty of this special day.

The raising of our Tipi reflects the strength of partnership and what can be accomplished when communities come together with a shared commitment to Indigenous wellness, healing, and reconciliation.

Mino-ishkwaa- naawakwe (it’s a good afternoon)

As we enter June, we are honoured to recognize and celebrate National Indigenous History Month. This is a month to reflect, learn, celebrate, and uplift the cultures, histories, voices, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

Throughout this month, we encourage everyone to take part in opportunities that foster learning, connection, and meaningful action toward Truth and Reconciliation. This month is not only about celebration, but also about continuing our collective commitment to understanding the impacts of colonization, acknowledging Indigenous resilience, and supporting Indigenous-led voices, knowledge, and healing practices within our communities and workplaces.

Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing:
• Educational resources and learning opportunities
• Community events and celebrations
• Indigenous authors, artists, teachings, and stories
• Opportunities to engage in reflection

We encourage everyone to participate in ways that feel meaningful to you. Whether that is attending an event, reading Indigenous literature, engaging in conversations, supporting Indigenous businesses, or taking time for personal reflection and learning. Every step toward understanding and allyship matters.

Please approach this month with respect, openness, and care, while recognizing that Indigenous Communities are not responsible for carrying the work of education alone. Let us all take shared responsibility in learning, reflecting, and taking action toward reconciliation together.

As an agency committed to mental health, wellness, inclusion, and reconciliation, we recognize the importance of creating spaces where Indigenous identities, cultures, and experiences are honoured and respected year-round.

Miigwetch to everyone who continues to walk alongside this honouring with openness, humility, and care. We look forward to celebrating and learning together throughout the month of June.
