Depending on your planting goals,

If you want to: Grow more strawberries 🍓
- cut the runners so more energy is put into growing the fruit
- cover strawberry patch with straw/hay to help retain moisture

If you want to: expand your strawberry patch with more strawberry plants 🌱
- do not cut the runners - they will grow and root into the soil and create more plants
- this will divert more energy into growing more plants instead of growing more strawberries
- you can still put straw/hay on top to retain moisture

🌱 Garden update: it’s out of control. 😅

We’re hoping to get our baby plants in the ground in the next couple weeks! 🪴

Things I learned this week:
- Cut the plants so there’s only one plant per cell. Keep the best one
- Don’t pull out the plants that you cut because it helps the root system
- Water from the bottom tray, not on top of the plants
