❄️ Safe Shoveling Tips:
With all the recent snow, here is some advice to stay safe while shovelling.
Prepare: Warm up, stretch, and drink water before starting.
Use proper technique: Bend your knees, lift with your legs, and keep your back straight.
Pace yourself: Take breaks and don't overdo it.
Listen to your body: Stop if you feel pain, shortness of breath, or lightheadedness.
Use the right equipment: Use a smaller shovel or partially fill a larger one.
Shovel fresh snow: Fresh snow is lighter than snow that has started to melt.
Push snow: If possible, push snow instead of lifting it.
Avoid twisting: Turn your feet instead of twisting at your waist when throwing snow.
Clear catch basins and fire hydrants: Clear snow from around these areas.
