Fridays are normally my gym days, but I've been feeling off the past few days. Sweats and chills, but no other symptoms.
I decided to do my workout from home today. I didn't want to pass anything on to anyone else who may have weaker immune system.
I have all the same weights at home that I would use at the gym, and I follow the same workout regardless.
I try to go to the gym once a week just to get out of the house considering I work from home.
I usually do 3-4 weight training sessions a week and 2 cardio (Incline walks on the treadmill and cycling). 1 strength and 1 cardio at the gym, the rest from home.
Today I knew I would have to take it slow.
My goal isn't to 'kill' the workout, it's just to finish it....no matter how long that takes.
Same amount of sets
Same amount of reps
Same amount of weight
Just longer breaks in between
I found today I was out of breath much more quickly than usual. My body is definitely fighting something.
While I rested, this audio from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast played in my head.
It may have taken me twice as long, but I finished every rep, without dropping weight
I tested my strength, challenged my muscles without completely exhausting myself.
This leaves energy to help my body heal.
Listen to your body.
You do you.
Make yourself proud ๐
