We tend to separate things so neatly.

Physical pain over here.

Emotions over there.

Intuition somewhere else.

But you don’t experience your life in separate categories.

Your body is constantly responding to what you’re experiencing.

The people you’re around.

The environments you’re in.

The choices you’re making.

The things you’re holding onto.

The things you’re trying not to feel.

Sometimes your body tells you something before you’ve found the words for it.

A tightening.

A pulling away.

A sense of ease.

A knot in your stomach.

A sudden feeling that something isn’t right.

Learning to notice those signals means becoming a little more familiar with yourself.

And sometimes, that’s where change begins.

🪴If you’ve been feeling a pull to reconnect with yourself lately, I have a few openings available this week—whether you feel called to start with your body or explore something deeper.

What if being gentle with yourself isn’t the same as letting yourself off the hook?

We sometimes treat self-compassion like it means avoiding hard things.

Giving ourselves excuses.

Not challenging ourselves.

Staying exactly where we are.

But I think gentleness can ask something much more courageous of us.

It can mean noticing when you’re tired instead of calling yourself lazy.

Listening when your body says something doesn’t feel right instead of pushing through.

Recognizing a pattern without turning it into another reason to criticize yourself.

Letting yourself change your mind.

Admitting that something isn’t working anymore.

Giving yourself room to learn without demanding that you should have known better.

You can take responsibility for your life without making yourself the enemy.

You can want something to change without hating the version of yourself who got you here.

And you can do difficult inner work without treating yourself like a problem that needs to be fixed.

Sometimes the most meaningful change begins when we stop fighting ourselves long enough to actually listen. ❤️

What if you spent less time figuring out how to get there—and more time getting clear on where you actually want to go?

We’re often very good at identifying what we don’t want.

I don’t want to feel this way anymore.

I don’t want this relationship.

I don’t want to keep living like this.

I don’t want to be so exhausted.

I don’t want to keep repeating this pattern.

And then, almost immediately, we start asking:

Okay, but how do I fix it?

What should I do?

What should I change?

What steps do I need to take?

But sometimes we skip an important question:

What do I actually want my life to feel like?

Not the five-year plan.

Not the perfect career.

Not the strategy.

Not how you’re going to get there.

Just the outcome.

How do you want to feel when you wake up?

What kind of relationships do you want around you?

How do you want to spend your time?

What do you want your body to feel like?

What do you want to have room for?

What would make your life feel more like yours?

You don’t have to know how to create it yet.

You don’t even have to know if it’s possible yet.

You just have to give yourself permission to imagine something you actually want.

Got the “I know I don’t want this anymore” part down, but still working on the “okay…so what do I want?” part?

I can help with that. 😉

Not because you caused them.

Not because you deserved them.

And not because everything that happens to you is somehow a reflection of something “wrong” within you.

But because our experiences, relationships, and circumstances can reveal parts of our internal landscape that we might not otherwise notice.

Sometimes we’re so focused on changing the person.

Getting them to understand.

Making the situation different.

Proving that we’re right.

That we forget to ask:

Why does this affect me so deeply?

What is this bringing up in me?

What am I tolerating that I no longer want to tolerate?

What am I afraid would happen if I chose differently?

Where have I stopped listening to myself?

The external world can become very easy to attack when looking inward feels harder.

But sometimes the most useful question isn’t:

“How do I make this stop happening?”

It’s:

“What is this experience teaching me about myself?”

Because when you begin to understand your own patterns, needs, boundaries, fears, and desires, you gain something much more valuable than control over the outside world.

You gain a deeper understanding of who you are.

And from there, you can begin making choices that actually belong to you.

Sometimes the way forward isn’t changing everything around you.

Sometimes it’s finally understanding yourself within it.

If you’re noticing a pattern in your life that you’re ready to understand more deeply, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Sometimes the past doesn’t stay neatly in the past.

It can shape the way we breathe.

The way we brace.

The way we hold tension.

The way we move through the world.

And when your body is constantly occupied with protecting, adapting, or simply getting through the day, it can become harder to notice the quieter things.

The subtle yes.

The quiet no.

The feeling that something isn’t quite right.

Or the sense that something is deeply aligned.

This is one reason I value slowing down and reconnecting with the body.

Because being present in your body gives you more information about your experience.

Abdominal cupping is one of the ways I work with the body to bring attention to an area we don’t always consciously notice or tend to.

Sometimes the work isn’t about forcing anything to change.

It’s about creating enough space to notice what is already there.

And sometimes, that’s where listening begins.

What if you were allowed to make time for yourself simply because you want to?

Not because something is wrong.

Not because you’ve reached your limit.

Not because you’ve finally earned it.

Simply because you matter, too.

Making time for yourself is an intentional act.

An hour to tend to your body.

An hour to step away from everything else.

An hour to be supported, rather than always being the one who supports.

You don’t need a reason good enough to justify taking care of yourself.

Sometimes the reason can simply be:

I want to.

I need it.

I’m worth it.

And sometimes, choosing yourself looks like actually making the appointment.

Unpopular opinion:

You don’t always need more discipline.

Sometimes you need to stop asking your body to keep adapting to something that isn’t working for you.

More pushing.

More productivity.

More stretching.

More trying to “fix” yourself.

We’re often much better at noticing that something is wrong with our bodies than asking what might be wrong with the way we’re living.

We notice the headache.

The tight shoulders.

The poor sleep.

The irritability.

The exhaustion.

But how often do we stop and ask:

“What have I been asking myself to tolerate?”

Sometimes the body gets our attention because we’ve been ignoring the quieter signals.

Not always.

But sometimes.

What if confidence has less to do with how you see yourself—and more to do with how well you know yourself?

Because there’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from constantly questioning yourself.

Was that the right choice?

Did I say the wrong thing?

Are they upset with me?

Should I have handled that differently?

Maybe I should just do what everyone else thinks I should do.

When you don’t know yourself deeply, it can be easy to look outside yourself for reassurance.

When I began to heal the biggies in my life—the seemingly unrelated patterns we’re conventionally told belong in separate categories—I started to realize they had something in common:

I didn’t know myself well enough to know…

What felt like a genuine yes.

What felt like a no.

What mattered to me.

What drained me.

What I was willing to make room for.

And what I couldn’t keep betraying myself to accommodate.

The more we come to know ourselves, the less we need other people to tell us who we are.

We can disappoint others without immediately believing we’ve done something wrong.

We can make a choice that someone else doesn’t understand and still trust ourselves.

That’s the kind of confidence I’m interested in.

Knowing that when the noise gets loud, we can still hear ourselves.

08/05/2026

You may already know this feeling.

Something looks perfectly fine on paper…

But your body tightens.

You tell yourself to go ahead…

But something in you pulls back.

You can’t explain why you feel drawn toward something…

Yet your whole body seems to say yes.

We often look outside ourselves for the answer.

More information.

More analysis.

More certainty.

But sometimes the information we’re looking for is already being communicated through the body.

The physical and spiritual aren’t separate parts of who we are.

Coming back into the body can create space to notice what you’ve been overriding, dismissing, or simply unable to hear.

That’s one of the places shamanic healing can begin.

🌿 If you’re feeling called to explore your own inner knowing more deeply, in-person and virtual shamanic healing sessions can be booked through the link in my profile.

Why do I keep doing this?

Why do I keep ending up here?

Why can’t I just change?

Patterns may seem like they just keep happening.

But patterns don’t appear for no reason.

Sometimes they develop around something we needed to protect ourselves from.

Sometimes they helped us navigate a version of life we no longer live.

The work isn’t about forcing the pattern to disappear.

It’s about holding space to understand what it’s been trying to do for you.

From there, something new becomes possible.

I help people explore the patterns they’ve been noticing in their lives more deeply.
