Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one who learned how to research… or use Google?

Let’s talk about it.

I sometimes receive messages from women who are upset that I haven’t included every possible thing you could ever do for lipedema in a 1,200-word social media post.

Apparently, I’m expected to squeeze an entire 90-page dissertation into a single caption.

And listen, I get it.

When you’re diagnosed with lipedema, you’re often overwhelmed, frustrated, scared, and desperate for answers. As a therapist, I understand how living in a constant state of fight or flight can make it difficult to know where to start.

You want someone to tell you exactly what to do. You want the answers. You want to feel better. And you want them yesterday.

But here’s something I really want you to understand:

INFORMATION IS EVERYWHERE. Learning how to use it to advocate for YOURSELF is where the real power lies.

If I share information about estrogen metabolism, and you recognize that it might be relevant to you, that’s an opportunity to start asking questions, researching the evidence, and speaking with a qualified healthcare professional about what might be appropriate for your body.

If I talk about compression, movement, nutrition, lymphatic health, or nervous system regulation, you can use that information as a starting point to explore what might support YOUR needs.

You don’t need to know everything today. You don’t need to try everything. And you certainly don’t need to buy every program, supplement, or protocol someone tells you is the missing piece.

Lipedema is an incredibly individual journey. What helps one woman may not be right for another.

I educate for free here to raise awareness and share what I’ve learned over years of research, and I help you ask better questions, to empower you to become an informed advocate for your own health.

And if you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the information out there, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

THIS IS WHERE MY 1:1 LIPEDEMA support can come in if you want more.

I offer personalized support to help you navigate your lipedema journey, make sense of the information, identify realistic next steps, and build a lifestyle that works for YOUR body, circumstances, and goals.

Because while you absolutely can research and learn on your own, having a guide can help you find direction faster, cut through the overwhelm, and focus your energy where it matters most.

I’m not here to promise a magic cure or tell you I have every answer. I’m here to help you become more informed, empowered, and confident in navigating your own journey.

You are capable of learning about your body.
You are capable of asking better questions.
You are capable of advocating for yourself.

And you deserve support along the way.

If you’re ready for more personalized guidance, send me a message about my 1:1 lipedema coaching.

You don’t have to do it all alone.

Love, Laura

13 signs you may be estrogen dominant… and it’s quietly making your Lipedema worse. How many of these do you have?

1. Heavy or painful periods (clotting, cramping, flooding)
2. Irregular cycles
3. Tender or fibrocystic breasts
4. Mood swings, anxiety, or irritability
5. Low libido
6. Excess fat storage in hips, thighs, and lower body (which overlaps with Lipedema patterns)
7. Difficulty losing fat
8. Bloating or water retention
9. Fat that worsens or feels painful
10. Tender nodules or lumpy fat that seem to flare with cycles
11. Swelling in legs/arms that’s worse around the menstrual cycle
12. Fatigue and brain fog
13. Sleep disturbances: trouble falling or staying asleep

Understanding our own bodies empowers us to take action and find relief while living with lipedema.

Do you have any of these?

On August 28th, 2023 I had Lipedema removal surgery (7.6L removed) at in Poland. This was a pivotal moment in my life that completely changed the trajectory and I would do it all over again!

Can lipedema grow back after surgery?

Not trying to start drama… but your doctor is not going to be the one who saves you from lipedema.

And before you come for me….I’m not saying you don’t need your doctor.

You do.

You need medical care. You need someone who listens. You need appropriate diagnosis, treatment, referrals and support.

But your doctor cannot do the work of living in your body for you.

They can’t move your body for you.
They can’t regulate your nervous system for you.
They can’t build your relationship with food.
They can’t manage your stress.
They can’t choose your daily habits.
They can’t advocate for you every single day.
And they certainly can’t hand you one magic prescription that makes lipedema disappear.

At some point, you have to realize:

YOU are the most important person on your lipedema care team.

Learn about your condition.
Ask questions.
Get informed.
Find practitioners who understand lipedema.
Move your body in ways that feel good.
Support your lymphatic system.
Eat in a way that supports YOUR body.
Work on your nervous system.
Build strength.
Wear compression if it helps you.
And stop waiting for someone else to unlock the secret to your healing.

Your doctor can be an important part of the team.

But they are not the CEO of your body.

You are.

And that shift in mindset can change everything. 🤍

Laura your Lipedema Bestie

It’s Yoga Monday one of my favourite days of the week!

And today, we’re talking about Tree Pose

Tree Pose isn’t just about balance. It helps you:

1. Strengthen your legs, ankles + feet
2. Improve balance + stability
3. Build core strength
4. Increase body awareness + focus
5. Challenge your nervous system in a safe, grounded way
6. Create a sense of steadiness; physically and emotionally

And maybe my favourite part? It reminds us that being grounded doesn’t mean we never wobble.

You can sway.
You can lose your balance.
You can come back.

That’s yoga.

See you on the mat tonight!

Love,
Laura xo

This is your sign to come into legs up the wall!

5 reasons you should put your legs up the wall TODAY

•Helps reduce that heavy-leg feeling; Especially after a long day of sitting or standing.

•Support circulation + fluid movement Elevating your legs can support venous return and may help with temporary swelling.

•Give your nervous system a chance to downshift Pair it with slow, deep breathing for a simple relaxation practice.

•Take pressure off your legs and feet, It can feel incredibly restorative when your lower body feels tired or achy.

•It’s FREE and takes 5 minutes.
No fancy equipment. No complicated protocol. Just you, a wall and a few quiet minutes.

For my lipedema besties: this isn’t a cure for lipedema, but it can be a lovely part of your daily feel-good routine.

Try it today for 5–10 minutes and notice how your legs feel afterward.
