This conversation with my dear friend of is one that touches my heart deeply. I needed loving presence as a little girl. And my parents needed support and encouragement when they were trying to do their best.
I needed compassion for myself as a mother struggling with two young children. And my boys needed warm presence and acceptance from me.
I’ve learned that everyday I practice offering myself more compassion, my boys have a mother who’s better able to extend more compassion to them.
Compassion goes a long way. Especially in parenting our children and re-parenting ourselves.
In a world that pushes us to be better, stronger and more resilient we’ve forgotten the importance of offering ourselves and our children warm presence, kindness and acceptance.
You can push yourself to your limits, but the crash inevitably comes. This crash is a reminder for you to come back to a place of compassion for yourself. When you offer compassion to yourself, you can extend true compassion to the ones you love.
It’s from this softer place that you (and your children) can truly heal, grow and thrive.
I hope you enjoy this conversation and remind yourself that you, your inner child and your children all deserve deep love and acceptance.
