After a busy Saturday celebrating High Street and all the excitement downtown, today looks a little different. 🌿

I'm spending the rest of the weekend gardening with Chris, getting our little haven ready for summer, and leaning into the slow moments.

As a small business owner, it’s easy to get caught in the whirlwind of always needing to be available, always answering, always doing. I really struggled about opening today, but the truth is, I can’t truly show up for others if I don’t take time to show up for myself and the people I love too.

So this May long weekend, I’m refilling my cup the old fashioned way - sunshine, dirt under my nails, good company, and a slower pace. 💛

(Also, Bandit will have a new sign this week at the store as we enter dog shopping season - dogs are welcome when Bandit is on break, but when Bandit is on duty we kindly ask that dogs remain on the sidewalk so he can stay alert for what really matters - belly rubs)

Summer hours will begin in June.

There’s something quietly heroic about the people who step into the gaps you didn’t even realize were draining you.

Over the past six months, I’ve had that kind of support from of Kelsi Byers Digital + Consulting.

She stepped in right when I made the switch (back) to Shopify and completely redesigned my website in a way that actually feels like Re:mind. Calm, intentional, and reflective of what we offer. But beyond that, she took social media off my plate, something I’ll be honest, I just couldn’t keep up with.

Running a small business means you’re always “on.” You’re there when you’re open, you’re there when you’re closed, you’re trying to be present with your people… and then there’s the constant pressure of showing up online. Because if you’re not visible, you risk being forgotten. It’s a lot.

Kelsi came in, understood the vision right away, and made it feel easy. And someho - unexpectedly - fun. (A word I never would have associated with social media before her.)

To my fellow small business owners: it’s an investment, yes. But it’s one I find myself grateful for every single day, hallelujah!

And on a more personal note… getting to reconnect with a school friend through all of this has been such a bonus. She’s even cooler now than she was back then - which I didn’t think was possible.
