14yrs ago I wasn’t calm or particularly spiritual.
I just felt like I’d completely run out of options.
My body was inflamed. My nervous system was shot. Leaving employment to build & run a new business & nearing the end of a challenging 2 yr divorce & I felt like I was white-knuckling my way through every day.
A friend told me about Vedic meditation and I thought I’d already given meditation a good go & it wasn’t for me because I didn’t have the time or could barely sit still.

But I was desperate enough to try and that first session — something happened in my body I didn’t have language for at the time a kind of settling. It was an invisible calm underneath all the noise had always been there. Just waiting to remind me of what is.
Within weeks I was sleeping differently.
Reacting differently. Migraines lifted
& tension in my jaw started releasing.

14yrs later I here I am now a Vedic meditation teacher - because this made such a positive difference in the way I operate in the world I want to share it with everyone who needs it

Tell me what’s keeping you from trying meditation.

During Vedic meditation your brain produces a wave pattern that doesn’t happen during sleep, waking life, or ordinary rest. Science has a name for it but most people have never heard of it.

It’s called restful alertness, it’s a distinct combination of alpha brainwaves alongside measurable drops in cortisol and blood lactate. Your body rests deeper than sleep. Your awareness stays completely present. It’s been studied for decades and the effect compounds. When you practice this twice daily and your baseline nervous system state genuinely shifts over months, not years.
I noticed it in my own life and practice around the six-month mark. Things that used to derail me completely started landing differently. I had faster recovery that left less residue.

This is measurable. It’s learnable. And it’s taught in a structured course, not a YouTube video or an app.

Curious what this would look like in your own life? The next ‘Learn to Meditate’ VM course is linked in bio.

What if the most productive twenty minutes of your day is the one where you do absolutely nothing?

We measure productivity by output. Emails sent. Boxes ticked. To do list finished ….

The research on Vedic meditation shows something counterintuitive that twenty minutes of sitting in restful alertness resets your cortisol, drops your metabolic rate lower than sleep, and leaves you sharper for everything that follows.

The students I teach aren’t adding a task to an already full day. They’re changing the operating system underneath every other task.
It’s not time you’re spending.
It’s capacity you’re building.

If your days feel full but never productive this is the missing piece.
DM me “CALM” and I’ll send you the details for the next course.

I had a beautiful conversation with Saima the podcast how Vedic meditation gently rewires stress and brings you back home to yourself.
This conversation is for anyone feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or stuck in cycles of overthinking. You’ll discover how meditation isn’t about perfection but about release, safety, and reconnection. Expect a grounded, honest take on healing that feels accessible, not intimidating.

I got sick recently.
Burning the candle at both ends —
one business running, another being built, young family, all of it.
And my body did the thing bodies do.

It stopped me.
Days in bed. No say in the matter.

And it made me look properly at my relationship with time.
You know the running I mean. Not literal — the stacking of days.

The pushing through the tightness the telling yourself you’ll rest when the next thing’s done.
And then it’s done. And there’s another one.
But here’s what I realised in that bed.
The clock is real. Your calendar is real.

The feeling that time is chasing you — that’s not.

That’s a nervous system in a stress state,
distorting your whole experience of time.

Think about it an hour spent anxious and rushing vanishes. You can’t even say where it went.
But an hour fully present can feel spacious. Whole. Same sixty minutes. Completely different experience.

Because time isn’t only measured outside you.
It’s FELT inside you.

When cortisol is high, time feels like the enemy.
Like it’s running you.

So today — if you’re eating standing up, rushing the car, walking too fast, replying before you’ve even paused — THAT’s THE SIGNAL!
Take one breath into your diaphragm. Sit down.

That’s you taking time back.

Make time work for you.
Not you, forever working for time.

If time feels like the enemy lately — comment ‘TIME’. I teach how to shift this with Vedic Meditation and Breath. Save this for the next rushed moment.

STOP 🛑
Take this breath for you!

Full breath in through your nose.
Don’t exhale yet.
Small extra sniff sip at the top through the nose — pack the lungs completely.
Now — long exhale out through the mouth.

Three times.

Feel that?

Here’s what just happened in your body.

CO2 levels dropped. Heart rate slowed. Your shoulders fell away from your ears. Your amygdala — your brain’s alarm system — got the signal: we are safe.

This is called the physiological sigh and Stanford calls this the fastest evidence-based stress reduction tool we know of.

Save this for the in the moment moments … after school pickup when the kids might be rattled. The bathroom at work. The second you feel yourself starting to lose it.

You have this tool now. 🙏

Tell me in the comments — when could this have saved you today? 👇

And if someone in your life is running on empty right now — send this to them. Genuinely.

When you pause to reset, you’re not checking out. You’re doing the most important work of your day.

Your nervous system is always broadcasting. To your kids, your colleagues, the people you love most. They feel your state before you speak a word. Before you even walk into the room.

So when you take five minutes to breathe, to sit, to do nothing — you’re not being selfish.
You’re interrupting a pattern that would have played out on everyone around you.
You’re choosing who shows up next.
For your kids. For your work. For your life. For yourself.
The reset isn’t the break from responsibility.
The reset is the responsibility.

There are experiences that don’t just teach you something new, they bring you back to yourself.

My time at the teacher immersion was that.

Over and over, breath by breath, I was met. By the practice. By myself. Not the version of me that holds it all together, not the mother, the partner, the leader or teacher but the one underneath all of that. The one that just is.
hurl is a truly extraordinary teacher. She creates space that is both safe and sacred, where you’re not just learning techniques to pass an assessment, you’re living inside the practice itself. Every session, every breath, every layer of release was a reminder of why this work matters so deeply.

I came home softer, more regulated, more nourished, more whole.

And now I can’t wait to bring into my offerings. To guide more people into that deep healing, nourishment and quiet coming home to themselves to step forward from a regulated, deeply healed place.
That’s where real living begins. 🧡
