🌿☕ Sometimes, the most beautiful moments happen when you simply stop and say hello.

I noticed this gentleman enjoying his coffee, his phone, and the peaceful view from our beautiful new deck overlooking Participark.

I asked if I could interrupt him for a moment to take his picture — and that simple request turned into a conversation I won’t soon forget.

We talked about our backyard, the park, and how special it is to have such a beautiful view right outside your door.

He mentioned that people would have to travel “up north” to find a view like this.

Then he said something that really stayed with me:

How lucky he feels to live here. How much he appreciates it. How special it is.

And honestly, it made me stop and think.

How fortunate are we to live and work in a place where moments like this are part of everyday life?

Where a morning coffee can come with the sounds of nature, a beautiful park as your backyard, and a sense of peace that many people travel far to find.

It was a simple conversation, but such a beautiful reminder to pause, look around, and appreciate what’s right in front of us. 💚

We are truly lucky to call Tillsonburg Retirement home.

And sometimes, the people who live here remind us just how special that really is. 🌿Thank you Vince, for being part of our TRR community!

💙 Words of Wisdom Wednesday 💙

This week, we're featuring Louise, who has been a valued member of the Tillsonburg Retirement Residence family for the past two years.

When we spent some time getting to know Louise, she shared that her faith is an important part of who she is. It brings her a sense of peace and helps guide her outlook on life. Louise believes in living happily, finding peace in the little things, and staying true to what matters most to her.

Of course, life at home is made even sweeter with her beloved cat, Mae, by her side. 🐱💙

Louise's words of wisdom are simple, but meaningful:

"Be peaceful, live happy, and hold on to what brings you peace."

Thank you, Louise, for reminding us that happiness can be found in living with a peaceful heart, appreciating the people and things we love, and staying connected to what gives our lives meaning. 💙

☕🫖 Afternoon Tea with Family & Friends 🫖☕

Our residents and their families recently gathered to enjoy a lovely Afternoon Tea filled with delicious food, warm conversation, and wonderful company. It was a beautiful opportunity to spend quality time together and create special memories.

A heartfelt thank you to our Culinary Manager, Sasha, for preparing such a beautiful and delicious menu. Your creativity and dedication made the afternoon extra special and was enjoyed by everyone!

A wonderful addition to our front yard seating area at Tillsonburg Retirement! 🌿☀️

Thanks to Austin and his team at Cooks Concrete for helping us create such a welcoming outdoor space. Residents, families and visitors now have even more opportunities to enjoy the fresh air, catch up with friends and loved ones, or simply sit back and people-watch. 💚

It’s great to see the space being enjoyed and bringing people together!

Our residents enjoyed another wonderful visit with Sheila during her Summertime & Sunflower Fun program! They had a great time creating beautiful sunflower-inspired artwork while learning interesting trivia and fun facts about these cheerful summer blooms.

There’s nothing quite like baking together! 🍌🧁

Our residents recently rolled up their sleeves and made delicious banana muffins from scratch. From measuring and mixing to sharing stories and plenty of laughs, it was a wonderful afternoon filled with fun, concentration, and sweet memories.

Best of all? We got to enjoy the warm muffins together and share a few with friends. It's moments like these that make our community feel so special. 💛

✨ Cheers to our beautiful new deck! ✨

We officially celebrated the grand opening of our brand-new outdoor deck with fancy drinks for our fancy deck! Residents gathered to enjoy great conversation, plenty of laughs, and the gorgeous view.

This beautiful new space is more than just a deck—it's a place to make memories, share stories, enjoy visits with family and friends, and soak up the sunshine together.

🌞🚂 What a wonderful day in Port Stanley! 🍦

Last week, our residents enjoyed a fantastic day trip to beautiful Port Stanley, where we shared a delicious lunch, took a scenic train ride, and topped off the afternoon with a refreshing ice cream before heading home.

There were plenty of smiles, great conversation, and wonderful memories made throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who joined us for another enjoyable adventure!
