🚨 Emotional and psychological abuse often leaves invisible wounds.

Because there may be no physical evidence, survivors are frequently misunderstood, dismissed, or told to “just move on.”

As a trauma awareness organization, our focus is not on diagnosing individuals. Our focus is on understanding the impact that emotionally harmful behaviours can have on the brain, body, nervous system, and overall well-being.

Many survivors describe experiences such as chronic self-doubt, anxiety, hypervigilance, difficulty trusting themselves, and feeling disconnected from who they once were.

When we understand trauma, we become better equipped to support healing.

On Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day, let’s shift the conversation from judgment to understanding, and from blame to compassion.

💙 What is one thing you wish more people understood about emotional and psychological abuse?

⚠️ Ever wonder why some people seem constantly on edge?

“Unpredictable environments teach people to stay guarded.

Safe environments allow people to relax.”

When life has taught us that criticism, conflict, rejection, or emotional inconsistency can appear without warning, staying guarded can feel like a survival skill.

Safety changes that.

When people feel emotionally safe, they don’t have to stay in protection mode. They can breathe, trust, connect, and simply be themselves.

Last week, I attended the Community Ideas Festival — and if I’m being honest, I wasn’t sure I would “fit” in as a sole proprietor.

But what I discovered was a room full of passionate change-makers, advocates, innovators, community organizations, and people leading with purpose, heart, and lived experience.

It was a reminder that meaningful impact isn’t measured by the size of your business — it’s measured by the care, passion, and vision you bring to the work.

Grateful for the conversations, connections, and the people working every day to create stronger, safer, and more supportive communities. 💛
