Hard Feelings Toronto

Hard Feelings Toronto Hard Feelings is an innovative non-profit mental health organization, based in Toronto. NOTE: This page is not activly monitored.

Please visit our website and send an email if you need to get in touch. Hard Feelings was founded by Kate Scowen, a social worker, counsellor and writer who believes that strong mental health is rooted in self-understanding and connection. In her work, she found that many people were unable to find affordable mental health supports. She envisioned a storefront where people could come together to find resources that support strong mental health and have access to affordable on-site counselling.

Your donation helps us make low-cost psychotherapy more accessible ๐Ÿ’š

Access to psychotherapy at market rate often costs a lot. Those unable to afford market rate psychotherapy often face long wait times to access free services.

Hard Feelings was created as an innotvative way to meet the needs of those who face barriers in accessing mental health support due to long wait times, high private practice fees, and the complexity of navigating the mental healthcare system. We do this by supporting a community of mental health professionals who offer low-cost, high quality psychotherapy.

As a small registered charity, we rely on donations to help us grow and sustain our work. In making a donation to Hard Feelings you are creating change, helping our community come together to fight stigma and support innovation in the mental health sector.

Thank you for being part of our story. ๐ŸŒผ

Blood on the Clocktower is back - Spooky Summer Edition! ๐Ÿซ  ๐Ÿฅ€

During a hellish thunderstorm, a scream echoes through the sleepy town of Ravenswood Bluff. Lilly unfolds the story as the game goes on. โ›๏ธ

Thursday, June 11 at 6:30

At Hard Feelings, we understand and value the importance of connecting and socializing with others as a tool for stronger mental health. This is why, in collaboration with our long time volunteer, Lilly, we have organized an evening where members of the community can come together to play, meet each other, and build connections.

ABOUT THE GAME
Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game taking place in the little town of Ravenswood Bluff. If you have played Mafia or Warewolf before, you will find some similarities. The game is facilitated by a Storyteller (Lilly) who will guide the players through all the phases of the game. Each player will assume a unique role, each with a unique ability that can significantly impact the game. In Blood on the Clocktower, players will die throughout the course of the game. However, unlike other similar games, death is not the end. Dead players continue to impact the game, and often make the difference when deciding which team comes out on top. It is up to the townsfolk of Ravenswood Bluff to find the demon hiding among them, and whether you are working for the forces of good, or the forces of evil, you will need both deduction and deception to come out on top. For the ones who know the game, we are going to run the "Trouble Brewing" script.

Why do we talk about breaking the stigma at Hard Feelings? ๐Ÿค”

In a 2019 survey of working Canadians, 75% of respondents said that they would be reluctant โ€“ or would refuse โ€“ to disclose a mental illness to an employer or co-worker. However, 76% of the same respondents stated that they themselves would be completely comfortable with, and supportive of, a colleague with a mental illness. *

So, we canโ€™t help but ask ourselves: What is missing? ๐Ÿง

We are inviting you to name it. Maybe putting our experience with mental illness out into the world is the baby step before a full-on conversation. Maybe thatโ€™s the opening some of us need.

Next time you stop by our storefront, we invite you to name what you or your community is living through. We want to hear from you. Letโ€™s take that one foundational step towards breaking the stigma and remind ourselves that โ€œwe are NOT aloneโ€. ๐Ÿ’š

As we continue to celebrate Mental Health Awareness month, we invite you to stop by our storefront to read, reflect, and to add your own experiences. ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

You might come to take a look at our community wall of naming, and feel a little less alone.
You might add something and help the next person feel that same sense of connection.

Did you know that over 70% of people do not talk about their mental health at work, even when theyโ€™re struggling?*

That silence can feel heavy. When we begin to share, even in small, quiet ways, it can make it easier for others to open up too, or to ask for the support they need. ๐Ÿ’š

If it feels right for you, be part of the ripple.
Your voice matters here.
