This morning I was reflecting on last night’s JOYRIDE and the many lessons wrapped up in one beautiful experience.
I met Alyssa Kerbel when I said yes to an opportunity that made me uncomfortable. Had I not said yes, I never would have met her, or the whole network of like-minded women I’ve met through her since. Such a good reminder that sometimes the opportunities that stretch us are the ones that open doors we couldn’t have imagined.
Alyssa and I have been on similar paths of trying to define what the next chapter looks like after some big changes. I’ve watched her vulnerably share the ups and downs along the way, and I think there’s such a gift in that. When we share our stories honestly, we help other people feel less alone in theirs.
And I remember when Joyride was just the spark of an idea. I was at the first one, and I’ve watched Alyssa continue to shape it, grow it and make it her own.
Last night, I really needed a Joyride.
I needed the movement, the breath, the music, the community and the reminder to get out of my head and back into my body.
And to be reminded who the f*ck I really am and why I’m on the path I am after someone recently tried to discredit me and rock my confidence.
I was also thinking about how, if Alyssa hadn’t had the courage to follow that spark and bring her idea into the world, I wouldn’t have had the experience I needed last night. And I’m sure I wasn’t the only one in that room who needed it.
Say yes to the things that stretch you. Share your story. Follow the spark. ✨❤️
You never know who might need what you’re here to create. ❤️
