The week’s reflection, thanks to this best photo bomb ever with pearls of “penguin wisdom”. I liken myself at this moment, to the seal.🦭
Periods of transition and change often make us feel flightless and grounded, but especially of late - and in my ongoing learning life-experience - these temporary pause moments are the exact moments we build the strength, resilience and stamina needed to dive into our next chapter with thriving brilliance.
Here is what these tuxedoed legends can teach us when we feel “stuck” and unable to soar:
🐧Redefine your wings: navigate through harsh times/moments by learning to adjust, adapt and bounce back quicker than before, with the focus on thriving, not just surviving. This takes practice – start now and again and again, because circumstances, and the feelings associated with them, come and go.
🐧Stick together: Penguins huddle against freezing winds to share warmth. True strength comes from supporting each other through tough times.
🐧Share the load and grace: Parenting and survival are team sports for penguins. For us humans, same - and add the many other relationship roles that need tweeking from time to time, like sibling-ing, friend-ing, colleague-ing, supporting. Share tasks and generosity and lift each other up.
🐧Enjoy the ride: Stop stressing and take time to slide on the ice or simply stand there, breathe, look up and all around with gratitude for blessings that already exist. It may not seem easily evident, but there is wonder and joy in the journey!
So, for those moments that bring us to thoughts of feeling stuck and flightless, may we remember we aren't stuck - we’re just getting ready to dive deep, to soar, in a new way for every new beginning.
