I don’t have to tell you that making meals for my family has been my favourite part of motherhood… you can just SEE it. My (almost) 8month old lil dude is eating like a prince, we support him through BLW and provide different cultural food. He loves shrimp, salmon, and his mamus cucumbers. (Shoutout Armaan Dhalla for having the greenest thumb in the game)!
Big shout out to Dietitian Moms | Baby + Toddler Feeding and Recipes and Bhavin Mistry | Indian Dietitian for supporting me while I figure things out. I would be lost without the support and guidance.
I’m not a paediatric RD but definitely can give you a bunch of ideas on how to support the whole family while making meals. If you scroll through the slides, you can see that many of the foods are repeats in the same shape, these are easy for meal prep. Also, don’t feel intimated by what I’m making, this is my passion and favourite part of being an RD, it’s not for everyone but works for our family!
This slide:
Tuna and shrimp tacos with peach salsa
Aloo paratha with Greek yogurt and cucumbers (two little salmons cubes for him for health fats)
My parantha was gobi with chilis!
Peanut tofu with beans, carrots and brown rice
Miso tofu spaghetti + cucumbers
Tacos bowls. Amari had chicken, tomatoes w cottage cheese and roasted red peppers
Shwarma bowls: homemade tzatziki (mamus cucumbers included), beef, hummus, pita
Lettuce wraps: we had crispy rice with mamus tomatoes. Amari had a chicken patty I froze and made. He just played with the lettuce more than anything (cute)!
Everything lentil sauce pasta. Basically all the sad vegetables + crushed tomatoes blended with red lentils.
Salmon balls + carrots, cucumbers, tahini dressing, rice and green beans
Tofu wraps with tomatoes and carrots (leftover lentil sauce on his pita)
Pizza night with lentil sauce from pasta! Amari’s was deconstructed!
