Apparently, I’m a terrible plastic surgeon… and an even worse businessman.

I say no. I talk patients out of things. I obsess over millimetres. And sometimes, after a consultation, my recommendation is to do absolutely nothing.

Not exactly a masterclass in maximizing revenue.

But behind the jokes is something I take very seriously: my job isn’t to sell you surgery. It’s to listen to what’s bothering you, give you my honest opinion, and recommend what I genuinely believe is right for you, even when that means recommending less surgery, a different approach, or no surgery at all.

Because at the end of the day, the most important person in the consultation isn’t the business. It’s the patient.

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗖𝘀

“I want 350 cc implants.”

It’s something I hear all the time, often because a patient has seen someone else’s result and loves how it looks.

But even if someone is your height, weight and age, their breast dimensions can be completely different from yours.

Think of it like furniture. Two homes can have the same square footage, but that doesn’t mean the same dresser will fit in both bedrooms. You have to 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁.

Breast implant sizing works the same way.

We start by measuring your 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝘁𝗵. Then we choose the appropriate 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 or profile based on your anatomy and goals. Only after those decisions do we arrive at the volume in 𝗖𝗖𝘀.

𝗪𝗶𝗱𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱. 𝗖𝗖𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁.

The right implant isn’t about matching someone else’s number. It’s about finding the right fit for 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

Motiva Implants in Canada: Are They Worth the Wait?

I’ve been getting more and more questions about Motiva breast implants, including from patients who are waiting specifically for them to become available in Canada.

To my knowledge, Motiva implants are not currently available in Canada, and I have not been able to find any publicly accessible information confirming that an application has been submitted to Health Canada.

So what makes them interesting?

One of their potential advantages is the SmoothSilk® surface, with published data suggesting low rates of capsular contracture, particularly when implants are placed over the muscle.

But there is some important context. In my practice, I typically place breast implants under the muscle using a dual-plane technique, and our capsular contracture rate is already below the rates commonly quoted in discussions of Motiva implants.

For patients specifically interested in over-the-muscle breast augmentation, Motiva may offer some interesting potential advantages. But for patients who are open to other implant options and an under-the-muscle approach, waiting for Motiva may not necessarily provide an advantage when it comes to capsular contracture risk.

I currently have a growing list of patients waiting for Motiva to come to Canada, but unfortunately, I can’t tell them when that will be.

If you’re considering breast augmentation, a consultation can help you understand the options currently available in Canada and whether waiting for Motiva actually makes sense for you.

Timeless, Never Overdone

A facelift should never change who you are. It should simply restore what time has gradually taken away.

This patient is shown 6 months after a preservation deep plane face and neck lift, combined with an endoscopic brow lift, fat grafting for volume restoration, and chin augmentation to improve facial balance and projection.

Her results demonstrate a refreshed, naturally youthful appearance through:
• Restoration of descended facial tissues
• Improved jawline and neck definition
• A more elevated brow position
• Subtle restoration of facial volume
• Enhanced chin projection for improved profile balance

Just as importantly, the outcome still looks like her. There is no tight, windswept, or overdone appearance, only a rested and refreshed version of herself.

You’ll also notice how beautifully the incisions have healed. At just six months, they are already remarkably difficult to see. I’ll be sharing a close-up video soon so you can appreciate just how discreet these scars have become.

Natural results are never an accident. They are the product of thoughtful planning, meticulous surgical technique, and respect for each patient’s unique anatomy.

Reclaiming Her Silhouette

Pregnancy can permanently change the abdomen, stretching the muscles, creating excess skin, and altering the body’s natural contours. For many women, even dedicated exercise and a healthy lifestyle cannot fully restore what pregnancy has changed.

This patient is shown just 6½ weeks after lipoabdominoplasty, including abdominal and flank liposuction with re**us diastasis repair.

While her transformation is already remarkable, these are still very early results. Swelling remains throughout the abdomen, and her tissues will continue to soften and settle over the coming months. As healing progresses, we expect even greater definition, contour, and refinement.

The goal is not simply a flatter abdomen. It is to restore balance, proportion, and a silhouette that feels natural, elegant, and in harmony with the rest of the body. Every procedure is carefully tailored to the individual, with meticulous attention to detail throughout the surgical journey.

No matter how healthy you are, some things simply can’t be fixed with diet and exercise alone.

This wonderful patient lived an active, healthy lifestyle but remained frustrated by loose abdominal skin and stubborn areas of excess fat that persisted despite her best efforts. To help her achieve her goals, I performed a full lipoabdominoplasty, combining a tummy tuck with liposuction of the abdomen and flanks to create a firmer, smoother, and more athletic-looking contour.

At just 6 months after surgery, her transformation is already remarkable. While the physical changes are significant, what makes me happiest is seeing the confidence that comes with feeling comfortable in your own skin again.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping patients address concerns that they have worked hard to improve on their own but simply cannot overcome through lifestyle changes alone. Procedures such as lipoabdominoplasty are not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle; rather, they can help refine and restore the results of that hard work.

I am incredibly grateful for the trust my patients place in me and my team, and I could not be happier to have been part of her journey.

This gentleman felt that the bags beneath his eyes made him appear constantly fatigued, even when he felt energetic and well-rested. To address this concern, he underwent upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty along with facial fat grafting for facial balancing and rejuvenation.

These photos were taken just 6 weeks after surgery. His upper and lower eyelid incisions have healed exceptionally well, to the point that they are essentially imperceptible. The combination of eyelid surgery and strategic fat grafting has helped restore a more refreshed, youthful appearance while maintaining a natural look that still feels completely like him.

One of the most rewarding aspects of facial rejuvenation surgery is helping patients look as vibrant and full of life as they feel on the inside. We are grateful to have been part of his journey.

Procedure:
• Upper Blepharoplasty
• Lower Blepharoplasty
• Facial Fat Grafting

Good coffee, churros and chocolate, long walks, and time with the people who matter most. Grateful for the chance to slow things down for a moment and come back refreshed, focused, and ready for what’s ahead.

I’ve always believed that short breaks help me come back sharper, more focused, and refreshed — and ultimately better able to give my patients the energy, attention, and care they deserve.

Looking forward to being back soon and hitting the ground running for a very busy few months ahead.
