In this video, I'm talking about the C in the Resilient PACT: 🅲🅰🅻🅼

When we're overwhelmed, fearful, or emotionally activated, it's easy to react instead of respond. But the truth is, we make better choices from a place of calm.

Calm doesn't mean ignoring challenges or pretending everything is okay. It means creating enough space to think clearly, regulate our emotions, and respond in a way that aligns with our values instead of our stress.

You don't have to make every decision immediately. Sometimes the most productive next step is to create calm first.

I'd love to hear from you: What helps you return to a place of calm when life feels overwhelming?

In this video, I discuss the A in the Resilient PACT — 𝔸𝕔𝕔𝕖𝕡𝕥𝕒𝕟𝕔𝕖.

Acceptance is often misunderstood. It does not mean giving up, staying stuck, or approving of difficult circumstances. Instead, acceptance is about acknowledging where we are, recognizing what is within our control, and creating space to move forward with intention.

When we resist our reality, we often spend valuable energy fighting what already exists. Acceptance allows us to shift from “Why is this happening?” to “What do I need now, and what choices do I have moving forward?”

In the Resilient PACT, Acceptance is a reminder that resilience begins with honesty — seeing ourselves, our experiences, and our circumstances clearly so we can respond with greater clarity and purpose.

I invite you to reflect:
What is something you may need to accept before you can move forward?

In this video, I'm sharing the "P" in the Resilient PACT: Perspective.

When life feels overwhelming, our first interpretation of a situation isn't always the only one. Learning to pause and ask, "How else can I see this?" doesn't minimize our experiences—it creates space for new possibilities, greater clarity, and more intentional responses.

Perspective isn't about pretending everything is okay. It's about recognizing that the story we're telling ourselves may not be the only story available.

This is one of the foundational practices I return to, both personally and professionally, because resilience isn't just about getting through difficult moments—it's about how we choose to make meaning of them.

I'd love to hear from you: When has a shift in perspective changed the way you approached a challenge?

Today's Resilient Reflection is a question.

I heard this question on a tv show and have repeatedly asked myself this question since.

Words Have Weight
A powerful reminder of how deeply our words impact the world around us.

This video clip is a brief reminder that language matters. The words we choose do not just describe our reality. They actively shape it.

Food for thought:

Words can build or destroy.

They can heal wounds or cause them.

Intent versus impact. What we mean matters less than what others feel.

Language drives connection.

Clear communication bridges deep divides.

Mindful choices impact outcomes.

Pausing before speaking changes the narrative.

A Quick Challenge:
Watch this clip and think about your recent conversations. How can you use your voice more intentionally today?

Let’s use our words to lift others up, spark empathy, and create positive change.

Tell me how you use language to bring positive impact.Let's discuss below.👇🏾

Are You in Survival Mode Without Realizing It?

This clip is from my talk, "Beyond Survival: Unmasking Fear in High Stress Work," presented at the Tema Foundation Education Day.

When we're managing constant demands, deadlines, responsibilities, and stress, it's possible to slip into survival mode without even noticing. What starts as a temporary response to pressure can become our default way of functioning.

Some signs you may be operating in survival mode:

▪️ Constantly feeling overwhelmed or exhausted
▪️ Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
▪️ Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected
▪️ Irritability, impatience, or increased anxiety
▪️ Always focusing on the next task with little time to pause
▪️ Neglecting your own needs while taking care of everyone else's

Survival mode is your mind and body's way of protecting you during stress. The challenge is that when we stay there too long, we can lose connection with ourselves, our relationships, and the things that bring us joy.

Awareness is the first step. When we recognize the signs, we can begin moving from simply surviving to truly living.

What signs tell you that you're operating in survival mode?

One of the funny things my clients tell me in session...

Apparently, my voice ends up in their head long after therapy is over. 😄

I have to admit, I think I'll take that as a compliment.

If you're looking for a therapist who can help you navigate life's challenges, manage stress, build resilience, and create meaningful change, I'd be happy to connect.

I offer a free consultation so we can discuss your goals and see if we're a good fit.
