Ankle mobility doesn't get much attention — until it starts affecting everything above it. 🦶
When the ankle can't move through its full range, especially bending forward over the foot, the body finds the motion somewhere else — often at the knee or hip, which weren't designed to take on that extra load. Over time, that compensation can contribute to knee pain or hip discomfort that seems to have no obvious cause.
A simple test: kneel with one foot forward and try to drive your knee over your toes without your heel lifting. If it's difficult, ankle mobility work — like controlled ankle rocks against a wall — can help restore that range.
At T.O.G.ether Wellness Clinic, we check mobility up and down the whole chain, because the source of the problem isn't always where the pain shows up.
