🚨 Health Canada Warns of Counterfeit Laser Devices 🚨

Did you catch the recent Health Canada advisory? Fake diode laser systems sold under the "Soprano" brand have made their way into some Canadian clinics. They carry falsified medical device licences, meaning their safety, cooling mechanisms, and actual energy output are completely unknown.

While Hideaway Spa doesn't currently offer laser treatments, I am deeply familiar with them. With over 15 years in this industry—including running the cosmetic side of a local dermatologist's practice performing medical laser treatments—I've seen firsthand how proper equipment calibration and strict safety protocols change everything.

Keeping on top of all the latest trends, science, and industry information is a core priority at Hideaway Spa. When an advisory like this impacts our community, it's incredibly important to share it so you can protect your own safety.

A local spa just closed their doors and many people still have invested money in voided gift cards. They were given little to no warning and as someone who worked there from 2016 to 2020, under the original owners, I am saddened by the choice to close too abruptly.

As someone who would like to pay homage to place during my time there, for it contributing to my career as an esthetician, I'd like to extend an offer to those who still have gift cards that are now null and void, that I will honour them for 70% of their current value for services here, at Hideaway Spa.

Great news!

We had an unannounced health unit inspection today and passed with flying colours.

When we opened years ago we called the health unit ourselves to request an inspection, so it’s good to finally have our first official visit and see that they take spa safety seriously. Even better to know our everyday practices already meet their standards.
