High-conflict separations are exhausting in ways that are hard to explain unless you've lived through one. Every email feels loaded, every text message feels like a trap, every exchange of the kids requires emotional arm...

My daughter got her G2 and took my Jeep to work. I thought the hard part was teaching her to drive...

Turns out the hard part is sitting at home staring at an empty parking spot and resisting the urge to text: Did you lock it? Do you have your keys? Are you alive? Did you lock it for sure though?

I guess that's what parenting teens look like: spend 17 years teaching them independence, hand them the keys and immediately develop 47 new thought distortions. 😭❤️‍🩹🚗🏁

People: Business cards should be professional.

Me: Okay, but my logo is a compass and a compass is circle shaped. So naturally, I upgraded to round business cards. And since the background of my website is a black starry sky, it made sense to have that on the back of my cards.

At some point in this process I realized I was designing my new business cards the same way I've built my practice: A little unconventional and off the beaten path. Unique, very bold and definitely not following trends.

Just me doing me. No corporate script, no fancy business strategy, no fancy therapist voice, no pretending to have it all together.

So yes, my business cards are circles. Not because they're trendy or bc a marketing expert told me to but because they felt like me. And after spending most of my life being told to be less me, that feels like a pretty good reason.

My husband assembling yet another shelf: "Do you really need this?"

This isn't just a shelf. It's an organizational system designed to support a therapist who works with humans aged 5-99 and needs 47 different categories of stuff including (but not limited to) fidgets, books, workbooks, craft supplies, cards, puppets, fake plants, more books... and other random therapy treasures.

Can I function without this shelf? Probably. Will I experience the same level of dopamine that comes from staring at a beautifully organized office corner? Absolutely not.

My neurodivergent brain doesn't just see a shelf. It sees peace, order, regulation. So while some buy handbags or clothes, I buy storage solutions... and I regret nothing.

It's June and the rainbows are out! 🌈

Let's celebrate loudly and support fiercely BC there's still people out there who feel they can't love who they love or be who they are. So wave that flag loudly and wear that rainbow proudly because Love is Love. 🤍

It's official y'all: I'm now in my hiking era. ⛰️🥾

Last weekend my son and I hiked The Crack and somewhere between the sweating, complaining, snacks, and breathtaking view, we decided we're making this a summer thing.

Next up: Devil's Rock.

The view is supposed to be incredible, but honestly, that's not what I'm chasing.

I'm chasing time.

Because somewhere along the way the long camping trips turned into "maybe" and family weekends became social plans with friends. Nobody wants to sit around the campfire with Mom for a week anymore.

So I'm adapting.

Trading week long trips for hiking days. Camping trips for concert nights. Finding new ways to stay connected with kids who are growing up and stretching toward their own lives. The outings are shorter now but just as meaningful.

So this summer I'm getting creative. Less big family vacays and more "Hey, wanna climb a giant rock with me?" Quality time and connection doesn't need to disappear when kids get older, it just changes trails. The real win is being lucky enough to spend ANY time with my kids. I'll lace up my hiking shoes and climb a mountain for that any day. Not so sure about the wonderland rollercosters and concerts tho... ❤️🎵🎢🏔️
