HosPall was proud to be a part of a wonderful event, yesterday as our community celebrated a new Long-Term Care Home and future seniors village coming to the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital campus, built by Schlegel Villages.

Since 2014, we've believed great care shouldn't be limited by setting: home, retirement residence, long-term care, hospice, or hospital. This new campus brings that whole continuum of care together, close to home:

🏡 2028 — A new long-term care home opening with 322 beds (originally planned for 161 — the province listened and nearly doubled it!)

🌳 2030 — A full seniors village with independent living, assisted living, and total care, just like Schlegel Villages' beloved community in Kitchener.

🎓 On-site learning too: Seneca College will train PSWs, RPNs, and RNs, and student doctors from York University's new medical school will gain hands-on experience caring for seniors , the first program of its kind in the country.

This is exactly the kind of care we champion every day: built on dignity, compassion, and quality of life. Because at HosPall, we believe life is a gift, and every person deserves to live it with comfort and dignity at every stage. 💙

Thank you to all the partners and advocates making this possible for the families of Vaughan and York Region: Schlegel Villages, , Anna Roberts MP , , Mackenzie Health, Seneca Polytechnic, York University, and the City of Vaughan.

🌟 Just two weeks to go!

The team at HosPall can hardly wait for the launch of 's 2026 season with The Pavilion, opening August 11 at the beautiful Pine Farms Orchard in King City.

If you've never experienced theatre under the summer sky at Pine Farms, you're in for something truly special. Set against the stunning orchard backdrop, this unique outdoor production combines exceptional live theatre with one of King Township's most picturesque settings. It makes for an absolutely unforgettable summer evening.

The Pavilion follows Peter as he returns for his 20-year high school reunion, hoping to reconnect with the woman he left behind. As old friends gather and long-buried memories resurface, the story unfolds with humour, heart, and poignant moments that explore love, regret, second chances, and the enduring power of memory. Critics have called it "an Our Town for our time."

As one of the proud community partners of King Theatre Company, we encourage everyone to experience this remarkable production and celebrate the incredible arts and culture that make our community so vibrant. 🚨 Air Quality Alert: The biggest risk today isn't what you can see. It's what you can't.

Toronto's Air Quality Health Index is reporting extremely poor conditions, driven by PM2.5 — microscopic particles from wildfire smoke that are small enough to travel deep into your lungs and even enter your bloodstream.

For comparison:
🟢 A healthy reading is around 30
🔴 Today's reading is around 250

Older adults, children, pregnant women, and anyone with heart or lung conditions are at greatest risk, but everyone can be affected.

Protect yourself today:

✅ Stay indoors with windows and doors closed.
✅ Run a HEPA air purifier if you have one.
✅ If you need to go outside, wear a clean, dry, well-fitted N95 respirator.
✅ Limit outdoor activity and keep trips short.

A few lesser-known ways to improve your indoor air:

💨 Turn bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans OFF unless they're needed—they can pull smoky outdoor air into your home.
🍳 Avoid using your stove or oven whenever possible. Cooking, especially frying or broiling, creates additional fine particles indoors. Consider cold meals, leftovers, or using a microwave instead.
🕯️ Skip candles, incense and wood-burning fireplaces today.
🧹 Avoid vacuuming unless your vacuum has a true HEPA filter.
🌬️ If your HVAC system uses a MERV-13 or higher filter, set the fan to ON instead of AUTO to continuously filter indoor air.
🚪 Create one "clean room" with a HEPA air purifier where everyone—especially vulnerable family members—can spend time.

At HosPall, we encourage everyone—especially seniors and their families—to take today's air quality seriously. Small steps can make a big difference. Our Nurses and PSWs are in the field, helping our clients and families be safe and comfortable.

Stay safe. Stay informed. 💙

A Canadian discovery that continues to save lives every day. 🇨🇦

Today, HosPall Senior PSW Joy attended the opening of the newly restored Banting Homestead, the birthplace of Sir Frederick Banting.

It was here that a young physician, soldier, and researcher began a journey that would ultimately lead to one of the greatest medical discoveries in history: insulin.

For more than a century, insulin has transformed diabetes from what was once almost always fatal into a condition millions of people around the world can successfully manage.

As healthcare professionals, it's impossible not to feel inspired standing where that story began.

Every day, our nurses and Personal Support Workers care for clients living with diabetes, helping them remain safe at home, supporting medication routines, encouraging healthy habits, and recognizing when something isn't quite right.

Medical breakthroughs change lives.

Compassionate caregivers make those breakthroughs meaningful every single day.

We're proud that one of our own was there to celebrate this important moment in Canadian history. We truly believe healthy aging and taking care of caregivers isn't only about medical care. It's about staying connected—to history, culture, community, and the stories that inspire us all.

Thank you, Joy, for representing HosPall and our profession so well. Thank you, to the dedicated efforts of the amazing leaders who made the re-opening of the Banting Homestead and Heritage Park possible.

Proudly Canadian.
💙 Proud to care.

A little while ago, we teased a big announcement… and then went quiet. 😊

Good things take a little time. Thank you for your patience — here it is. 💙

HosPall Homecare is the proud Title Sponsor of Alias Grace — the Canadian premiere — coming to the stage this November with King Theatre Company.

And we're not stopping at one show. We're proud to support King Theatre's full 2026 season as a Community Sponsor — from The Pavilion this August through A Christmas Carol in December. A whole season of local stories, told on a local stage.

This is exactly what we teased: community, connection, and a real belief in the arts. When neighbours invest in the stories told in their own community, everyone is lifted — audiences, artists, and families alike. It's the same spirit that guides our care: showing up for the people around us, all year long.

We're honoured to stand alongside King Theatre Company, and we can't wait to share what we have planned for opening night and beyond.

Because strong communities are built together. 🤍
