We are here to relieve symptoms of common foot ailments, trim stubborn thick nails, manage fungal nails, callus, corns, ingrown nails and generally maintain healthy & comfortable feet. We are both LPNs who work part time at Comox Valley Hospital, and now have expanded our education to specialize in Advanced Nursing Foot Care. We are here to assess overall foot health, manage corns/calluses, fungal

nails, diabetic feet, treat ingrown nails conservatively, focus on prevention, and more. Carmen is located in Comox, and Amirah is in Cumberland. We will divert whoever is closer to your specific location. Amirah also travels to Qualicum Beach, and Quadra Island fairly often so she accepts clients there as well. INCREDIBLE transformation for this client.🙌

This client was no longer able to reach their feet to trim their nails and had diabetic neuropathy, meaning they couldn’t fully feel or recognize how severe things had become. After suffering a stroke and ending up in hospital, their daughter contacted us needing foot care as soon as possible.

Initially, I wasn’t sure how much we would be able to do for the left 1st and 2nd toes, as it was difficult to tell whether the skin underneath was still viable. Thankfully, with collaboration from the Wound Care Nurse - who was able to carefully remove a significant amount of thick callus - we discovered the skin underneath was actually in surprisingly good condition.

I am SO grateful this was caught before more serious damage occurred, and that we were able to get this client’s feet looking and feeling so much better again 🫶

This is exactly why regular foot care is so important, especially for diabetic clients. Situations like this can progress quietly and become very serious before pain is even noticed.

Foot care is about so much more than aesthetics - it’s about mobility, comfort, confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Onychocryptosis or Ingrown toenails don’t just “go away”… and they’re very common!

We see this often - and many people wait too long before getting it treated.

An ingrown toenail happens when the nail starts to grow into the surrounding skin, which can lead to:
• Pain and tenderness
• Redness or swelling
• Increased risk of infection
• Difficulty walking comfortably

The good news is - it can often be treated safely and gently before it becomes severe.

During a foot care visit, we:
✔️ Assess the nail and surrounding skin
✔️ Carefully reduce and relieve pressure
✔️ Help prevent it from worsening
✔️ Give guidance to help avoid it coming back

You don’t have to live with the discomfort or try to manage it on your own.

In this specific situation, the client was directed by his GP to go remove the ingrown nail on his own.

Thankfully he contacted us instead so we could safely and properly deal with it.
This is a severe case, and it took 3 sessions to get it to where it is in the top photo.

The client is now thrilled he can mobilize again without pain.
Helping improve our clients quality of life is what keeps us going!
