The AIP didn't save me...it gave me space.
After years of trying every trend and fad, I decided to finally try the AIP - not because I believed in it, but because nothing else had worked.
Before starting, I researched everything. I needed to understand what I was committing to. I wasn't willing to jump into another 'fix" without knowing how it actually worked. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
At first, it was overwhelming! There was a lot to learn, a lot to unlearn, and a whole new way of eating to figure out!
So I started out slowly. Just a few days a week to get used to it.
And I struggled a lot in the beginning, but even in those few days, something felt different.
I eventually worked up to eating this way for 30-45 days, and felt better than I had in years. The hardest part for me was reintroducing foods. My body didn't agree with many of them, including the ones I used to eat all the time!
It was here that I stopped arguing with my body, and really started paying attention.
So, the AIP didn't "fix" me!
It gave me space - to calm down the belly bloat and other symptoms; to stop reacting to everything; and to finally understand what my body was asking for.
I still eat the AIP way today because it works for me right now.
No guilt! No second-guessing! Just feeling better - and that was a game changer.
Have you ever tried something like this - even just for a short time? What did you notice?
