Have you ever noticed that when you’re stressed, you stop breathing properly?
Not completely, of course
But your breath becomes shallow
It moves into your chest instead of your belly
Your body subtly braces for impact
For many people, that pattern becomes so normal they don’t even realise it’s happening
The respiratory diaphragm is one of the most important bridges between the body and the nervous system
When it becomes restricted, it can reinforce states of stress, vigilance, and tension throughout the entire body
One of my favourite things about Craniosacral Therapy is watching the moment someone finally takes their first deep, effortless breath
Not because they’ve been instructed to breathe differently, but because their body no longer feels the need to hold on so tightly
Have you ever noticed yourself holding your breath when you’re stressed?
Wishing you wellness and ease
