Say hi to Melina! 👋🌈
Melina (she/her) is a Registered Physiotherapist. She is originally from British Columbia and completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with a Minor in Psychology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She went on to complete her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.
Melina’s passion for working with children began through her experiences supporting children and families in both hospital and community settings. During her clinical training, she gained pediatric experience at Mount Sinai’s Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic and NICU, where she worked with infants and children with a variety of developmental and neurological needs. She has also worked as a personal support worker, supporting neurodiverse individuals and people with disabilities.
Since becoming a physiotherapist, Melina has continued to grow her experience in Ontario working in pediatrics supporting children with a variety of developmental and neurological conditions. These include, but are not limited to, developmental delays, hypotonia, torticollis,
plagiocephaly, toe walking, gross motor challenges. In addition to pediatrics, Melina has experience treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries.
Melina believes physiotherapy should be fun, meaningful, and individualized to each child. She enjoys using play and activities that are meaningful to your child. She values working closely with families and creating practical strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines at home and in the community.
Outside of work, Melina enjoys hiking, skiing, going to the gym, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends! She is excited to bring her passion and experience back to British Columbia!
