Beth Woodcock's Osteopathy Beth Woodcock is an Osteopathic Manual Therapist. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Oste It was developed by Andrew Taylor Still D.O.

Osteopathy originated as system of assessment and manipulation applied to the whole body for treating pain, injury and disease. After studying medicine, Dr. Still was convinced that most diseases could be alleviated or cured without drugs. The guiding principles of Osteopathy are:
1) The body has within mechanisms and a desire to self-regulate;
2) Abnormal structure and function can lead to dysf

unction, pain and disease;
3) The body functions as an integrated unit. Dysfunction in one area may lead to dysfunction in other areas. The body has an innate ability to heal itself. An osteopathic manual practitioner views and understands the body as a whole unit and uses a client-based system of diagnoses and techniques to resolve dysfunction, pain and disease by normalizing both structure and function and guiding the body to harness its own healing powers.
